The Ashton-Drake Galleries Katie, My Sweet Little Kitten So Truly Real Lifelike Baby Girl Doll by Mayra Garza

Bought this for my mother-in-law who has early Alzheimer’s. (It’s a long story, but she has said for years that she always wanted a baby girl.) We looked at different deals online four hours, and eventually settled on this one. We were pretty freaked out by all of the reviews that talked about the coloring being off, the weird/bad hair, and the head being too small for the body, etc. I’m happy to report that we did not have any of those experiences. If I had to make a comparison between the picture online and the doll we received, I would say that our doll looks just a shade lighter in person than it does in the pictures, but that’s it. The hair was beautiful. Much like you would expect of a newborn -- just a touch fuzzy, but not unpleasant, and it musses up when you remove the hat, just like a real baby. Ours did not look half glued on, it looked just fine...real, in fact. The blushing on the skin was beautiful, as were the details applied to the fingernails and toenails. The lips are warm-colored and glossy, and it looks like a real baby’s mouth. When the Binky is removed, you barely notice the spot that it goes in. (It does not look like a weird black hole, like some of the other dolls we saw online.) The outfit is absolutely precious. In my opinion, it really sets the doll apart from others. Also, I feel like her expression is so peaceful and sweet. We were really aiming for a lifelike doll, and I feel like the ones that have their eyes closed really hit the mark. She smells wonderful, like baby powder, and everyone says that she weighs about what you would expect a newborn to weigh. She just looks so lifelike – – you really have to do a double take if you catch her out of the corner of your eye. I felt like all of the picture details were replicated identically on our doll, with regards to the lines on the face, etc. A minor critique would be that in the picture, the eyebrows look a little more smudged, but on the doll, each hair is carefully defined -- not a bad thing, but just an observation. Again, the only thing I noticed is that the pictures make her skin look a little bit darker or deeper than she presents in person. Overall, this gift was a home run. I’ve never seen a baby doll make someone more happy than this one did. We were thrilled with our purchase. I would definitely buy this doll again. (We added the baby blanket from Target when we gifted it because it does not come with a blanket.)

The doll is beautiful...until you take her hat off. The hair was glued on in weird patterns and wasn't really life-like. Also the top part of her ears are really thick and don't look realistic. However, she came nicely packaged, has on a really cute outfit and smells like a baby. I really debated keeping her but can't get over her hair and ears.

My daughter loves this doll! Just a heads up, doll clothes don't fit very well. But we lucked out at a local consignment shop and bought some preemie and newborn clothes for it:).

Very life like and made with excellent quality. Certainly the gift that my 7 year old daughter always wanted

Once your daughter plays with the doll, the hair becomes very matted. This really isn't suitable for a young girl looking for a baby doll. We have 2 Ashton Drake dolls and both have bad hair.

She was adorable, My granddaughter picked her out & just loves her.
