Wonderful resource - great for both current and future Goldendoodle owners!
In her new book, Linda Whitwam has provided a wonderful resource to any current or future Goldendoodle owners! The book contains a wealth of information specific to the Goldendoodle breed, including health concerns, grooming needs and behavioral issues. The author starts by thoughtfully describing how to decide if a Goldendoodle is the right dog for you and continues on to choosing the right breeder and puppy, and then provides several chapters' worth of detail on training and caring for your dog (through its senior years). Along the way she has included the input from several established breeders, each of whom is dedicated to developing the Goldendoodle breed while maintaining optimum health standards in their dogs. The collective knowledge contained in this book is invaluable for both future and current owners! My family has never raised a dog before, and this book has been a wonderful tool to use as we prepare to welcome our new family member in the fall. The fact that it contains so much information specific to the Goldendoodle breed sets it apart from other "new dog" handbooks out there. The book is organized neatly into well-outlined chapters, each of which includes helpful tips, and will make a great reference tool for years to come as we raise our Goldendoodle. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to read this book before we bring our puppy home, but feel its information would be beneficial to Goldendoodle owners at any stage of their dog's life.

Great book for new owners
After several years of discussion, my wife and I decided to move forward to add a dog to our family and after some initial research, we decided that we wanted a goldendoodle. While we're definitely excited to add a dog, neither my wife or I owned a dog growing up. Our breeder recommended that we read this book as way to get introduced to owning a dog and more specifically a goldendoodle and after reading it, we're so glad that she did it.The book provides an in-depth overview of goldendoodles. It provides both background on the unique aspects of the breed as well as helpful tips for owners. While its especially helpful for our family as new dog owners, the comprehensive nature of the advice would make it useful for owners of all levels of experience,Aside from the amount of information that's presented, the most beneficial aspect of the book is the way that the information is organized and its readability. It's incredibly well-organized and easy to follow. The information is well-written and includes tips and anecdotes from a number of different breeders to give you a broad cross-sections of thoughts regarding goldendoodles.I was very pleased to read the book and I'm certain that we'll refer back to it often as we raise our dog.

Great Source for Mischievous Puppies
This excellent product was a great source for dealing with a crazy puppy. I used this book within the first couple hours!! The organization of the book really sets it out from others. The chapters are specific and covers everything. The extra tips Linda includes are always so helpful. While reading, I could really tell she loves the breed and has well researched it and has plenty of experience. She uses established breeders to support her so I know what she is saying works. I love how specific she gets to this breed. At the beginning, she starts out by exploring to see if the golden doodle breed is right for you. Linda describes their certain traits. Especially for those who haven't had a dog before, she explains very well how to train your golden doodle puppy. Even if you have trained puppies before, this is still a great resource, as it is specific to your golden doodle puppy. Would 10/10 recommend to all those who are considering the breed, have the puppy, or even those with a mature golden doodle.

Give to anyone considering a Goldendoodle puppy - they will thank you.
This is a great resource for all things goldendoodle and a fundamentally sound book on the techniques and importance of puppy training of any breed. I read it cover to cover but there is enough repetition of salient information to facilitate using it as needed as a reference guide. The book is organized in easy to read chapters which address everything from choosing a puppy to the science behind the breed. I specifically enjoyed the individual ideals and methods quoted from goldendoodle breeders. The fact that they had different opinions on puppy raising (should the pup sleep with you the first night, or near you, or in it's crate in the kitchen) was quite refreshing. What came through was the love and care that these breeders took in raising and placing their puppies and their deep dedication to developing a healthy and temperamentally wonderful breed. It made it easy to understand the benefits of seeking out a reputable breeder and the amazing potential of the breed. Now I just can't wait for the pup to come home.

So, so book
This book could be pertinent to almost any dog. I thought there would be more information about the specifics of Goldendoodles, but it is just a basic book about dogs. I think the author goes a little overboard in suggesting that the owner of a new puppy needs to take a few weeks off work to make sure the puppy adjusts to its new home okay. Who can do that? I bought Zak George’s Dog Training Revolution: The Complete Guide to Raising the Perfect Pet with Love here on Amazon and found it to be a much more helpful resource for getting a puppy. His book is easy to apply, and he gives you links to his online videos that demonstrate all of his training techniques. I would recommend that book and not bother with this one.
