Excellent informative book!
Although the recipes are limited , The author gives great insight into the Mediterranean way of life. My husband and I have adopted this way of living and couldn't be happier. We have lost weight, have more energy and just overall feel healthier! I made the dish featured in the pic from the recipes. Absolutely delicious!

Pretty good book
I read this book cover to cover, after wanting to ease off the keto diet. It is a worthwhile read, and had interesting data to back up the author’s claims.I give it a 4/5 because the book is repetitive. I wonder if he did this under the assumption that people would only read one chapter before diving in.As another reviewer mentioned, this book isn’t a cookbook; it’s 3/4 method and explanation. This isn’t a bad thing- it allows you to understand which of your already-cherished recipes are going to work for the diet plan. It’s been about 3 weeks since I started “semi” following the diet, and I have to say I am enjoying it. It is so much more relaxed than Keto, but still makes you think critically about the kind of food you are eating. I am not completely adhering to every bit of information right now, but have implemented his advice to at least 2/3 of the meals I am eating. I feel good!I would say, yes: but the book if you are looking for a practical diet plan that is backed by science and rational thought. I would not say it is gorgeous, flowing prose that will captivate your soul, but the information is easy to digest (pun intended).

Easy to follow
I wish he had written the specifics out on a page to follow. I had to work out from each chapter how many servings of each thing per day. I made up a calendar for the month to follow the daily and weekly portions. I did not follow his recipes but created my own with whole foods. The science is sound. This is a slight variation in that it is a low glycemic load diet as well. I each what I like and have an ounce of dark chocolate per day. I don't drink red wine so I take an "ex melts Resveratrol" supplement I get on Amazon. He gives a range of 3-5 servings of vegetables. Since I am trying to lose weight I went with the lower end of the range. Here is what I am eating:Daily3 cups of vegetables (or more)2 cups of fruit2 handfuls of nuts (my hand)4 Tbs of fat (olive oil, avacodos)1 cup Tea1 oz 74% or higher dark chocolateProbiotic (1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt, 1/4 cup Kefir or 2 oz "live" cheese)1/2 cup beans or peas*Weekly4 servings of fish or shellfish3 servings of poultry3 eggs3 whole grains1 red meat1 potato

Great book!
I have many books on the Mediterranean diet, having participated in a clinical research study comparing Mediterranean diet to standard American diet, and standard American Diet with nutritional supplements. i am convinced that this is the healthiest eating styles there is. This book not only provides detailed information about all the ways in which the Mediterranean diet is helpful to your health, but it also provides delicious, easy-to-prepare meals. Some Mediterranean diet books contain ingredients which are hard to find, or recipes that might not be well received in the US. This author has taken the time to adapt the recipes to appeal to American tastes, while maintaining the Mediterranean health benefits. He also shows how to adapt the recipes and meal plans to ensure weight loss. I am recommending this book to friends and family.

Science behind the Nutrician!
Where as other "Cook Books" will say "Garlic is good for you", Dr Masley gets into the specific chemicals and organics and then what each does to what body parts. Fascinating with some info like "5 lbs of Fat equals the volume of a football (got my attention).I previously read his "30 day Heart Tune-Up" which was also excellent. The two books complement each other, suggest you get both from Amazo.

An Even Healthier Take on The Mediterranean Diet!
I just received The Mediterranean Method yesterday in time for the New Year. My plan is to permanently transition to this type of eating from a more Paleo/sometimes indulgent approach. I really like the book because it’s approx. 3/4 discussion/rationale and 1/4 recipes. I’m not a big fan of when it’s the other way around. I read a lot of nutrition/health-related books and so far this is one I’m really enjoying! So, if you are into nutrition/health reading material from a qualified author and just want a relatively conservative amount of recipes as a jumping-off point, then this is the book for you!
