Each slot is 1/4" wide making the outside edges whole track 1/2"

Q: What kind of glue should I use to bond the tracks to wood?

I used gorilla glue the first time and on the second reptile enclosure I used gorilla double side tape. Both worked well.

Q: Will this channel accept 4mm (0.15748") glass?

No your panel is be too large it will not slide well. Designed for .125 1/8 thickness
