As many other have stated in their reviews... this can opener is different in that it takes the top off the can. I have not had my opener for very long... but, I do like it -- I just have to get used to it. There are three nits for me... because I have not used it a lot... I find it difficult to attach the opener to the can, I find it difficult to remove the lid from the opener, and, most important, because it removes the top from the can... be careful with can goods that are mostly liquid... because the liquid will easy spill out when removing the top or picking up the can. Again, I believe with practice these nits will go away. So, I do plan to keep this opener and learn how to mitigate the nits.

Really takes a lot of strength to use, I have arthritus in my hands and I have found it difficult, considering returning in hopes of finding one which requires less gripping strength.

Love the way this can opener opens cans. Leaves a nice smooth edge and the can fits back on like a lid!
