Great wool balls
Used these when washing a large load towels and rugs and I do think they helped us reduce the drying time and there was virtually no static.

Unbearably stinky -- AT FIRST -- but that will go away. They work great.
Don't use on your important clothes without washing them or using on unimportant laundry first.Upon opening the package, there was No strong, offensive odor on these magical wool balls themselves. However, during the first few loads, the smell emitting from my dryer into the rest of the house was dreadful -- a mix of jock socks, rancid oil, and decaying foodstuffs. This was amplified by the heat recapturing device that I use in the winter on my dryer. (It's a simple energy saving device that is attached to the dryer vent to blow the hot air from the dryer back into the house instead of wasting it to the great outdoors.)Because of the overpowering stink, I was certain they would need to be returned. There was no way any or all of my store of essential oils could cover that kind of stink up and I was disappointed. The clothes were, however, very soft and not wrinkly. I'm not sure whether they helped with dry time. Seems they might have on a bulky down comforter where the feathers usually tend to bunch into pockets but didn't notice a difference on the rest of the stuff. (Not saying there wasn't, just didn't notice.)I contacted the seller to see whether I was supposed to wash these first before throwing in the dryer. There was nothing on the instructions to that effect. The seller said I could hand wash them and either air or dryer dry them to reduce any odor. I haven't tried that yet but, while awaiting the seller's reply, I used them to dry some throw rugs and dog blankets and noticed now that they've gone through the dryer four times, they don't stink. They don't smell pleasant yet by any stretch: that's where washing and any essential oils might come in handy - but they aren't ruining my airspace any longer. There's probably some lanolin and perhaps other barn type odor on the raw wool that just needs to burn off or get washed off with soap. It makes sense that I was smelling rancid fat and God knows what else. So, I highly recommend these with the caveat that you probably shouldn't use at first on that load of important work clothes the night before you need them. Do a load or several of something non critical to test them out beforehand. Also, I noticed that some of my hair and my pets' hair had attached to them in the dryer after using for throw rugs and pet blankets. Not a big deal now but might become an issue in time. May be best to divide the 6 balls into two or three sets -- saving at least one for your very nice clothes and another for your grubby stuff. The instructions says to use 3 to 6 per load but I think 2 per load is enough.I'm changing my original rating from 1 to 4 stars because the point of buying these was to reduce toxic chemicals and pollution in my home and in the environment. 1 star off for the startling stink and lack of instructions including this important detail about washing them first. Not sure I can blame the company, which is in China. I've been to 3rd world countries. The middle class households sometimes have a rudimentary washing machine but most don't have dryers. I wouldn't expect most of the women putting these magical items together for us have any idea what they smell like in a dryer.

Love these dryer balls!
They are wool and work great! I don't like the strong fragrance and chemical buildup of dryer sheets and softeners. These dryer balls remove static and fluff up towels and clothing without the expense and chemicals.

Much quieter than the plastic alternative
These are larger and quieter than my plastic version, and there is no smell (so far) as some have complained of. Seem to keep down the static without fabric softener also.

Nice and large
A nice set of dryer wool for a reasonable price, they have held up well after several cycles in the dryer, they also fit nicely back into the cloth bag that they arrive in for storage.

Buy this Product for Healthier Living __AND__ to Save Money not something that often occur in Unison
Healthy Living Practices and Saving Money are often diametrically opposed. Well not with this product.First you ditch the chemical ridden dryer sheets or liquid fabric softener with a product that will last you for years. This saves money and helps those in your fsmily that have sensitive skin. Skin problems seem to be a growing epidemic in this country and we often take for granted that our skin is our largest organ. Then we put chemically soaked clothes, towels and sheets against our bodies and wonder why our skin is red, itchy, and scaley. You can add a couple of drops of an essential oil if you want some fragrance, and again that is a far healthier option.Just throw the balls in the dfyer and not only does it keep the fabrics soft, but the dryer cycle finishes more quickly saving electricity. This can be a hard metric to quantify as there are so many factors that lead to the amount of dring time needed, but it really does seem to dry faster. Its probanly due to the wool balls mai taining some air space between garments with the balls size and weight. The only negative: you'll have to pull the balls out from your dry clothes when removing the clothes from your dryer.they like to hide.I paid full rpice for this item. Its not very expensive and no one likes me enough yo send me free products to review. Therefore you know my review is 100% OPEN & HONEST. I take the time to post reviews since Amazon is a great place to buy things and since there are often helpful reviews posted by users. Its so frustrating to have to sift thru the useless reviews that often contain only a few words with few details and sometimes are not even a review of the actual product, but of shipping time, a shipping error, etc.Yes they are organicYes they are 100% woolYes your dogs will mistake them for chew toys if you leave them outYes they would probably be great for learning to juggle or for somewhat safe game of catch in the house (try at your own risk)UPDATE: The only issue that I can possibly see with this product is that since it's not disposable like dryer sheets, or used up like liquids, you need to pull them out of your dryer load for reuse. This can be a bit annoying as with items like sheets, or towels they can get wrapped up in the load and 'hide' from you. It's well worth this annoyance for the savings of electricity and purchase of chemical ridden products. My solution is to buy a second bag so I'll have enough and then when the laundry gets put away, we'll recover the balls that were elusive. We have so many towels and sheets, that we often don't fold and put them away right away. If you do, you would not likely have this problem. I still give this a 5 star review and I am ordering more right now.

Works a treat.
I was slightly sceptical when I ordered these balls but thought they were worth a try after reading the hype. The first load I tried them with was the towels and they did indeed cut down on the drying time. The towels came out nice and fluffy too. Subsequent loads also dried in shorter time without a hint of static. I was wary of using them with the pet bedding as I had visions of the pet hair clinging to the balls themselves, but I gave it a try and the balls came out without a hair attached to any of them.I have no idea of the science behind how they actually work, but they do everything they claim to do. With energy prices rising now I knew I had to try something and I'm pleased I took a chance on these, they really do cut down on drying time. The only drawback I found was the lack of scent, but you can always add drops of essential oils to the balls to overcome this.Definitely worth the money and delivered in record time. Highly recommended.

they really do work!
I was skeptical but darn.. these do work. I have completely switched to these for every load of laundry. One word of caution. When you first get them - they are wool after all - they will shed a bit for the first few times you use them. Don't use them with sweaters or cords... you end up with bits of white fluff on your clothes. This is ONLY for a few uses though as once they get used this goes away. I suggest using them at first with shirts, tshirts jeans and sheets.Everything is static free and no scent.. I haven't bothered adding my own scent to them. Not needed.great product and environment friendly!

Great buy
Excellent product. I added a couple drops of lavender on them and my clothes came out soft and yes they dried quicker. I wishI knew about these earlier.

Great!
Washing is less creased and definitely dries quicker. Just loses its fresh smell. I have read that you can put essential oils on the balls for fragrance.
