This is a long walled fitting that is ideal for using in a wooden hot tub application.
This fitting works perfectly for installing 1 1/2" suction and return lines in a wooden hot tub up to 1 1/2 " thick (it could be a bit thicker, but 1 3/4" would be pushing the edge). The price is outstanding as these fittings are hard to find. The inside facing is threaded and works well for adding a screw in skimmer to the suction side. Outside is a slip fit. This unit includes the tightening nut and the inside has a rubberized ridge that functions like a gasket. Great product if you are adding a circulation and/or heating system to a wooden tub.

Good bulkhead fitting for discharging sump pump from food barrell
Worked well once I figured out how to put it all together. Project was to pump washing maching discharge up to a 2nd floor sewer line, needed an air-tight connection to minimize odors.

NOT THE SAME as 1.5” tube/water feature fittings in big box stores!
These are HUGE😬NOT the same sizing as any the 1.5” pond/water feature, or tubing fittings sold in big box stores.Sadly, I can not use these with anything else I bought (Lowe’s/HD/Hartville Hardware) that is 1.5”😞. I want to return it, but this may/may not be my fault for missing dimensions in the description...TBD.Pay attention to ID/OD dimensions! They are bulky & of good sturdy quality I’d imagine. More like an 1 7/8”😒I haven’t used/put these together w/anything, or dropped them-the threads are slightly rough in spots. You need a strong hand to get the nut off, but I ‘could’ do it by hand w a towel👌🏼

Used on hydroponic garden with totes and they leaked, sealed with flex seal and seem to stop leaks for now

Solid bulkhead for flat or round surfaces
I have used the 3/4", 2", and these 1 1/2" bulkhead adapters and have not had a single issue with them yet. I see others commenting on the threads and I would have to disagree about any issues with the threads. There are two different threads on these adapters, one on the outside that is for the collar that holds the bulkhead tight to container (which will not fit any other adapter and is not supposed to) and the other internal threads that are standard threads for male adapters. I have used male adapters on all of these bulkheads with no trouble. Only things you need to be careful with is to not over tighten the collars when installing as you can crack them, especially the smaller ones. I have a video here - http://youtu.be/DHQynb4tYZI, that includes the installation of the bulkhead in a 55 gallon drum. Please let me know if you have any questions.

fits standard 1.5" ABS pipe
Somehow it's not clear that this bulkhead fitting accepts 1.5" threaded ABS on one side, and 1.5" glued ABS pipe on the other. The end shown with a nut is the GLUE end, the inside of the flange end is THREADED. Glue a pipe on one side, screw a threaded fitting on the other, continue with ABS. The washer has ribs for a better seal on uneven surfaces but won't work on a round tank. Remember 1.5" pipe is INSIDE DIAMETER, the outside of the pipe is larger. That's why this fitting seems so large: 1.5" plus schedule 40 thickness plus the fitting walls plus the flange. The inside of the glue end measures 1-29/32, the flange is 3-13/32, the outer threads (the hole you have to drill) are 2-11/32.There. That answers all the questions I had before I bought it. Just what the doctor ordered for putting a drain pipe through the floor of my trailer. But you're probably buying it for something else!
