I have something analogous to this, and have just bought these as backups.The crosshair pattern doesn't line up with any of the self-leveling units I've tried, so its really useless in general. It would be great if these had physical highly-reflective sliding reference lines, but just being a holder is good enough.Given how the Chinese-made level units tend to fall out of tolerance easily, or are just plain inconsistent from one to the next, calibration is absolutely necessary.Fasten an index card onto one of these (e.g. with a binder clip) and draw where its level when right up against the laser.Using a long, straight piece of wood (better: square steel stock) at least 1m in length, place the target at the end opposite of the laser.If you have an adjustable laser, alignment is easy.Some self-leveling lasers have a "brake" style lock meant for transferring to another surface. These are prone to jumping when locked, making the adjustment useless. Lock, remove the laser, then put it back in the same place. If it doesn't hold zero, it cannot be calibrated with a fixed angle.

Unless you have both a red lazer and a green lazer it makes no sense to buy this crap. red works with red lazer so this means you will not use half of your purchase. its stupid and makes no sense

I just received it and looks like this ones were used and returned because all of them are scratched and a big scratch in the reflective part as you can see in the pictures.Or maybe a bad handling when packed.I am really not satisfied with what i received.
