Sadhana: The Realization of Life

Tagore is a saint. This exposition is perfection in the English language. Virtually every sentence is quotable. For anybody struggling to understand Vedic philosophy, this books eloquently states in modern terms the key to the Soul’s purpose.

I read superficially that book due to their publicity, however there is a difference, of perspective speaking about Sadhana from a Nobel Price under international lights and someone, who got the lights from inside. This is precisely the role of the Sadhana. Otherwise I love all novels from Tagore and I promise I will try to read it again and may be revise my first view.

What emerges from a thoughtful contemplative reading of Tagore's Sadhana, the Realization of Life, is a deep current that touches the very essence of oneself. The book leads us into a process of understanding our connection with deeper dimensions of reality. It does so without recourse to intellectual metaphysics or high sounding claims, but rather through deceptively simple yet highly poetic language by which the author interprets the Hindu Upanishads, the message of the Buddha, and other ancient teachings with a modern conscience that reveals their timeless relevance. The message of this book is the way out of our dilemma, wherever one is in the chaos of modern life, it is a roadmap to oneself and a higher truth. I know i'll read it for the rest of my life.

I've had previously read this book in digital form and simply wanted a hard copy. Exactly what i wanted, shipped fast and delivered earlier than expected. An excellent soft cover to have.

Very well written, and insightful. Not all of it appealed to me, but it's got something for everyone, I think.

No flow in content or purpose of book

Tagore is brilliant in the simplicity he makes of quite complicated spiritual concepts, leading you by the hand, step by step, ever gentle in the persuasion about the greater meaning to existence.

His words, his eloquence, his heart are all melodiously written in this wonderful book. It is the bible for opening the heart and letting the self connect with the Self. Shredding fear and Ego to be our tru nature...God
