Overall a good product. Sturdy, durable. Good size. It does however leak if you put the lid on when you move it to refill it. So I have learned to take the lid off and carry the inner container to my hose and refill it, then use the handle on the inner container to walk it back, I put the lid back on when I take it back in the chicken area, this avoids me getting wet carrying it. Fairly easy to use and clean. Price was good compared to others on the market.

Works great I got tired of my plastic ones having to be replaced every few years, wish it come with extra rubber grommets for when the one in it wears out but it’s worked great through freezing and hot temps with no issues.

I have 3 complaints on this waterer: Firstly, the edges of the inside wall at the top are very sharp and you can easily cut yourself when trying to clean the inside reservoir. Its very hard to get your arm into it without drawing blood - and considering the less than sterile conditions this thing is used in, cutting yourself on this is very bad. Next, the system for preventing the water from running out when filling relies on a rubber stopper to plug the hole where the water fills the outer ring - it doesnt work well at all. Water runs out very quickly as you are filling so you have to be quick to dump the water in and put the outer wall back on to stop the leaking. Lastly, the water level in the ring stays low and my chickens really don't like it as their beaks don't go deep enough into water to get a satisfying drink. They have to work harder than I - or they - prefer to get their water. They free range so they have started going elsewhere to find their water (I have a small ornamental pond) but when closed in at night I feel that they forgo drinking until the morning - and that's not good. I have stopped using this and it will probably end up as scrap unfortunately.

With extreme temperatures, this works best. We have used many plastic water dispensers, but they all leak and crack over time. These galvanized water dispensers are sturdy and last. We purchased the heater that it sits on and it’s works great to avoid ice.

So far so good! Bought with the heater and it is working great! Only complaints I have are the handle (which is not to be used for carrying) was bent. Instructions would be helpful to explain the vacuum action and if there should have been a pin sticking out (my 3 gallon does not have one and must only be on the 5 gallon?) as I had to search for this to make sure I was using it correctly before taking it out to my flock and filling it.

This product really works great for my chickens. It holds more than enough water and it is very durable. I would recommend it especially after trying several plastic products.

I have seen alpt of mixed reviews about this waterer but ours is just fine. It came with no dents or dings, there is a bar inside to carry it once filled, and it doesn't leak. My chickens love it! The quality is sturdy and not flimsy at all. Overall it was a great buy for the price.

Not worth it. It leaks and the metal wears out as it is thin. You get little pin holes after about 6 months of use from cleaning it. The hole is to high so if it’s off even a tiny bit it will leak out.
