I have had pure wasabia japonica grated for me on a sharkskin grater several times and also have had the kind reconstituted from powder. This product tastes nothing like any I have ever had in all my years of eating Japanese Cuisine.This product tastes bitter with no hint of spice and reminds me and my family who smelled and taste tested it, of moringa powder which is a bitter, medicinal, nutritional herb that could hardly be used as a food condiment expected to enhance the taste of a meal.I should have paid closer attention to the reviews and gone with a brand that has much higher customer satisfaction.

This stuff is good but not very strong.

It can make you cry! But it’s delicious with no food coloring!

This wasabi was deliscious. No fillers or horseradish mixed in. Sushi Restaurant Quality. I will buy this again.

Does not taste like restaurants wasabi. I prefer others that use horseradish

Was my first time trying wasabi powder. Came out great for me. I used some shortly after mixing it and the next day. There's no specific measurement of how much water to add per tablespoon so you have to trial and error guess for consistency. It's not spicy but has the flavor profile of wasabi. I'm no expert and only had paste a few times at restaurants and a wasabi hybrid I've bought from whole foods that comes in a tube.

My husband wanted this because we experienced ‘real’ wasabi at a sushi restaurant on vacation in Arizona. It was amazing, not like paste wasabi at all. More like fine salsa. This product was nothing like we expected. It’s paste like all the rest so, unfortunately, the ‘real’ part of this isn’t what we expected.
