Good value and easy-to-use drone
The media could not be loaded. The kids had seen a friend's drone so persuaded me into getting one. Not being very experienced in this area, I thought I'd go for something a decent size (a lot of the cheaper drones seem to be pocket sized) and not too expensive. Holystone seemed to have a few well reviewed models on Amazon so I gave this one a try. Packaging is very good: a semi-hard case with everything neatly packaged, a manual and some spare propeller blades. There are 2 batteries included for the drone unit but no AAA (4 required) for the controller, which is a pity but then freebie AAA tend to either die very quickly or leak in my experience. Assembly is very easy and there's an app for Apple or Android that allows you to use the camera (video and photo) plus control the drone. The controller has a fold out clip to hold your phone while you control it.Using the drone is pretty easy. The drone batteries charge quickly and last a decent amount of time, so one the arms have been folded out and the propeller blade guards fitted, it's ready. As I say, I'm not very experienced with drones but this one is easy to use. A button takes it off once you have calibrated and activated the drone (takes 2 seconds) and then it hovers on its own, ready to be steered around. There are a number of features to help with piloting and - crucially - it's very easy to land using the same button to take off. I've attached a short video showing this (though steering one handed meant it wasn't the neatest of touch downs). The camera seems to work well with the app, though I've not done much there yet as I'm still getting to grips with being a pilot! It's early days and will take some practice on wind-free days for me and the kids to fully explore all the features but I think it works well and is a good option for a beginner.

Bargain drone for my son
I've been flying drones for quite a long time. Over the years been most impressed by Holy Stone and the quality of affordable drones in their lineup. So the choice was a no brainer when it came to purchasing a drone to start my son on. I searched through their product line and selected the Holy Stone HS260 Drone as my son's first drone. The choice was a perfect fit and right from the start there were a few features that I liked that aren't present on the more pricey drones that I own. That being gravity control and line draw flight path. The drone comes in it's own case that carries the drone, remote, spare blades and tool, rotor guards, 2 batteries and manual. The motor arms fold in so it fits nicely in the case. Each battery is good for 15 minutes of flying and this listing detail is accurate. Once you familiarize yourself with it's operation by reading the manual, you simply download the app and begin flying. Straight out you can see how stable the drone is and how well the optical position hold works when hovering, even in a wind. Takeoff is done with a push of a button on the app screen. Here's where it differs from my expensive drones. The drone can be flown with the app only and no use of the remote. You take off with the button and tell the drone fly straight, left, right, up ir down. Once airborne you can draw a flight path with your finger on the screen and it'll follow that path. You can also use gravity control to maneuver by tilting your phone and the drone will mimic the phones motion. This can be done with the remote attached as well. Having rotor guards is a must with beginners and came in handy. The camera is 1080P, takes great pics and can be rotated up and down through 90 degrees. There's 2 speed settings, high and low, and again, this is a great feature for first time users. Landing is just like takeoff with the push of a screen Button. Altogether this was a perfect choice as a first drone for my son.

Perfect little starter drone
My son bought this with his birthday money. He got a Flyer ID from Civil Aviation Authority (free) and I needed to get the Operator ID as he is under 18 (costs £10.33 for a year), which is required due to the camera on the drone. It is very light so any amount of wind makes it very hard to fly, it will go up but hard to control and thankfully he was able to rescue it from the tree it landed in! The camera and video footage he has taken has been good - not sure why some reviews are more negative about this, maybe it’s to do with their phone rather than the drone. The drone appears to be quite stable in good conditions and sits static and rotates and moves as controlled to do so. The batteries seem to take a few hours to charge and then each one lasts 15mins. He is very happy with his purchase though and all in all a good lightweight drone that comes in it’s own case so easy to transport.

Great value drone
Brought this for my 13yr old son & I'm massively impressed. It's pretty easy to just unpack & get going. U can connect to the app for taking photos & videos & many other features. The drone itself feels well built for the price, the controls on the remote are quite simple to use & it really is great fun. Camera quality is pretty decent in my opinion, comes with 2 batteries for extra flight time, lasting at least 30mins between them. The carry case keeps everything you need in one place, I really can fault it for the price.

Poor Connection, Poor Control, Poor User Interface
This was bought for my son as his 'Santa' Christmas gift, so you can imagine how happy he was when he unwrapped it.However, his excitement was soon overshadowed when we took it out for it's inaugural flight.I originally chose this drone because it had a hover function (1.5m) when it initially takes off, allowing the user time to familiarise themselves with controls. However, once we increased altitude from the over stage, it just continued to rise with no response from either the remote control or via the iOS app which we downloaded. As I chased it in the hope it would be in range to take control of it again (it was only 5-60 feet away), it just veered off up and to the right and disappeared from sight over trees into woodland (we live in a semi-rural area). You can imagine how upset my son was to see his Christmas present disappear never to be found again.I would definitely not recommend this product as it is obviously faulty.
