New writing about contemporary sculpture
What sets this book apart is that the artists have been given the time and space to express their ideas about their work in their own words. The author, who strikes the perfect balance between informed, interested and curious, approaches each artist with a bespoke set of questions, no doubt prepared following hours of painstaking research. The result is an accessible and handsomely-illustrated book full of insights and inspiration. Readers don't need to know anything about art or sculpture to enjoy this fascinating book.

Conceptual Art - I was missing an important part of the overall discussion.
' From the Sculptors Studio' avoids Art Twaddle and address's the Contemporary practice of sculptors from a broad and engaging group. The 20 interviews are each individual as are the selected sculptors. I had previously avoided conceptual art, but now realise I was missing out on an important part of the overall discussion. The sculptors who come from a variety of traditions, both culturally and intellectually, present well and approachable when discussing their practice. The book is suitable for the amateur artist, art students, art collectors through to Art critics, curators, Galleries / Museums plus newcomers looking to develop their art knowledge.

Beautifully presented collection of interviews
The interviews in this collection are refreshingly free of ‘art speak’. The intelligent and clear voice of the interviewer never intrudes but rather leads the artists to explain, to narrate and to reflect on their works and their motivations. The eclectic mixture of ‘British’ sculptors in the collection are interestingly divergent in style and form yet in this book become somehow unified in celebration of this creative epoch. I enjoyed revisiting the famous and being introduced to artists who were new to me. The collection is beautifully presented such that the illustrations neatly link with the text. A phenomenal first-hand connection with the words of contemporary artmakers.
