Easy, great smoker
Easy, great smoker. The attachment for cool smoking worked well with the salmon I smoked

Great concept but underpowered
The Good:1. This is a great concept. This wood bisquettes are very convenient and makes it very easy to use just the amount you need without much waste.2. The idea of an app to allow you to monitor the status and temperature is fantastic.3. This is the perfect form-factor for a small balcony! It takes very little room and the height gives plenty of interior space. The Bad:1. The heating element is severely underpowered. In 40 degree Fahrenheit weather, it takes about three hours to preheat the empty smoker to 250 degrees F. Once preheated, having to open the entire chamber every two hours to remove the half-charred bisquettes greatly drops the interior temperature so much each time that a 10.5 pound goose only reached an internal temperature of 150 degrees Fahrenheit after over twelve hours of smoking. (I had to finish the poor goose on the grill to get it to reach the desired 165 degrees F.)2. The app doesn't work well. Connecting the app to the smoker causes the heating element to shut off without warning (other than the dropping temperature gage). It's great if you like to watch the temperature of the temperature probes chase the heating temperature down to match the weather forecast - at least you'll know the temperature outside!3. Failure to replace the contents of the water bowl (and part-time bisquette douser) with water within every two hours causes a "jammed bisquette" error which seems to trigger the smoker to rapidly cool your food down...(just in case you wanted to start all over?).4. Sometime the heating element shuts off without any errors, alarms our warnings ( accept for the aforementioned sudden drop in the temperature indicator). Nothing seems to get it heating again except to shut down the smoker and to restart it.Overall: If you love smoked cuisine but only have a small outdoor area in which to cook, only cook items that require lower temperatures like fish and, perhaps, beef and are a very, very attentive (or even obsessive) cook...this may be your match in heaven. If not, this match could just be in that other place.

Great smoker, not so smart though
Being a tech enthusiast I bought this smoker excited for the smart features. Must say I'm disappointed with the smart features. App is EXTREMELY glitchy, to the point of being unusable (android). The range on the bluetooth is roughly 10` at best. However as a smoker it works great and cooks good food. I have an igrill and use it vs the smokers smart features, which are pretty much useless unless you're standing right in front of the unit. Don't waste the extra money, buy the digital smoker and an igrill for better features and range (120'). Would return but is too difficult being so big.

Not what it is made out to be.
I have been a long time Bradley fan. Owned 3 different previous models since Bradley smokers were available for sale. Recently purchased Bradley digital smoker, an upgrade from what I had before. The digital smoke generator did not work out of the box and was displaying E-1 error message. After hours of troubleshooting and speaking with tech support, the unit would still not work.Ultimately decided to return the smoker and upgrade to the newly released Bradley Smart Smoker with Bluetooth. What a disappointment. The interface is very lame, and the App doesn't work half the time. The controller keeps giving error messages regarding jammed biscuit, even when biscuit is not there. The unit shuts off when this happens during smoke/cook time, which is really frustrating. The new silicone seal doesn't work as well. Multiple leaks are happening around the door frame. So far I'm very disappointed with the quality. Step it up Bradley!

Gets the job done
I've used my Bradley BS916 a few times now and have a pretty good feel for it. Overall, it's a very good smoker. There are a few drawbacks to it though:- Shipping box looked like it had been dragged behind the truck rather than on it. Smoker was ok but had a small dent in the door. I figured if it smoked, I didn't care about a dent.- Instructions were confusing and poorly written. Once I finally found my model, I noticed that references to pages and diagrams had the wrong page given and I'm pretty sure some didn't exist. It's not that complicated though.- After second use, the top of the door came unattached. It looks like a small screw came out which is probably an easy fix but I can 't find the screw. I can still hold the door in place and latch it closed so it's not incapacitated.- It seems to struggle to hold the temperature. If the internal thermometer is accurate (I haven't done anything to check it), it runs 20 - 30+ degrees lower than what what I set it to. So I needed to set it to 250 to get temps from 215 to 230, and it didn't hold very steady and no matter what I set it to, it never actually reached that temperature. Granted, weather was cool (40s and 50s) but with the insulated box I was expecting it to handle better. We'll see how it does in warmer weather.- You need a cover for it. I didn't get one with my original order and then realized that if you put bisquettes in the feeder and then it rains, they get ruined and are a pain to get out of the feeder. I have a cover now.- As mentioned in numerous other reviews, the bluetooth range is pretty bad. I'd say I can get to maybe 20' away, but at least if it's cold or rainy, I don't have to go outside and the built in temperature probes let me check the food temp without constantly opening it up.- You can't advance the bisquettes using the app. You can set the smoke time, but it won't start actually smoking until you start the feeder, which can only be done on the actual smoker. Not a big deal since once it's started it keeps going, but just odd that pretty much every other setting is available on the app but this.- The app can be confusing and is not as user-friendly as it could be. I'm functional now, but it took a while.- The LED screen on the smoker is hard to see in daylight.- The bisquettes don't get used up before being discarded. I'd say most of them are about 50 - 60% used. I'd like to try re-using them but it drops into the water and I'm afraid not having water in the pan might cause other issues.I know this sounds like a really bad review for giving 4 stars, but when it comes down to it, this thing does a really nice job of smoking meat, which is the number one reason I wanted it. It doesn't require babysitting all day - just every few hours you need to remove and refill the water pan. But compared to the constant work of smoking with other brands, this one is really nice.

Very easy to assemble and to use.
I really like being able to monitor and control the smoker with my iPhone. I've smoked a couple briskets and a 10lb pork shoulder. Bluetooth stays connected anywhere in my home. The built in temp probes worked great.
