A Keeper - But Not Perfect
I was hunting for an plastic free metal electric kettle to replace my ten year old Cuisinart. I make a mug of black loose leaf tea every morning and having a good electric kettle is a must. I decided to take a chance on this kettle as it was said to be plastic free on the inside.I’ve had this kettle now for over three weeks. For the first week or so the kettle gave off the smell of plastic when it heated up. Yuck. I almost sent it back but decided to keep it in the hope it would burn off. The base is made of the thin somewhat flexible plastic, the handle that runs along the metal side of the kettle is plastic, and there is a plastic knob on the metal lid. When the kettle gets hot, the plastic smells. It took about ten days for the smell to completely disappear. I’m taking a guess that the plastic “cured”, so to speak, with repeated heating. I can confirm that the kettle is entirely metal on the inside. However, on the underside of the metal lid there is a tiny plastic dot punched through the top, about 1mm or 2mm. It looks like it helps keep the plastic knob on the lid secure. When it kettle boils, condensation will come in contact with the plastic dot on the underside of the lid, and drip back down into the kettle. So if you are are strict purist about zero plastic coming in contact with kettle water in the form of condensation, this may not be the kettle for you.I was disappointed to see the plastic dot as I was looking for a 100% plastic free, metal kettle. It seems I am chasing a unicorn. That being said, I decided to keep the kettle, as it’s a small infraction and I can live with it. Everything else about the kettle is good. I like the size, shape, finish, it pours precisely, and it heats a full pot quickly. At the moment there is no rust, just some minor discolorations on the bottom, which I attribute to the hard water in my house. I am subtracting one star for the tiny plastic dot.

ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT IT'S LIKE MY NEW BEST FRIEND! :)
The media could not be loaded. Well my friend said I would fall in love with this goose neck kettle and she was right. Somehow I was imagining the old style kettles you use to put on the stove that couldn't be further from the truth. I love the convenience of this one. As I stated in my video I can fill it turn it on in the morning and it's hot in a minute and a half or less. Once it's heated the cool water up the rest of the day I can just press that lever down and it's boiling and ready to go in probably 30 to 60 seconds once the red light is off it shuts itself and is ready for pouring. Faster than what it takes a microwave to heat my cup of tea with the teabag in it and I don't have to worry about the teabag bursting on me or my cup boiling over which sometimes happens when I nuke it. I absolutely love it and I love having the pour over filter because it lets me have sort of like a manual keurig for when you want just one cup of coffee. I feel like the cord could be longer but, that's probably because of the fact that my kitchen counter space is crowded with other appliances. I have a feeling a couple of those are going to get stored away since i barely use them. What else should I tell you...oh another thing I noticed was then when I got some water drops on the outside of the kettle they didn't leave water marks and the pour over filter cleans out super easy. They do recommend a periodic cleaning for lime buildup but, that's going to be a while before I have to worry about that. This is a perfect gift for just about anyone trust me I didn't think I was going to get a lot of use out of it but now it's like my best friend lol anyone will love it especially a minimalist it doesn't take up a lot of room and of course it can be used for a lot more than just tea or coffee, I could see making ramen with this, cup o noodle...gosh so many things. People that have RV's that like to camp or who are full timers would absolutely adore it. At any rate it's an easy 5 stars for me and I feel like I will get so much use out of it for many years to come. Thanks and have a great day! ~Kiki

Controlled pour BUT...
I used this pot for the first time this morning so my first impressions are fresh. First, it's not 1.2 liters - it's 1 liter. Second, it does not heat the water to a rolling boil. At the first hint of a rumble, it shuts off...and you can't restart it. There is not enough heat to see steam coming out of the steam holes like my stove top kettle. The lack of restart is an issue because I pour over my fresh coffee grounds and wait for the Co2 to release. During that time I generally reheat the water so it's nice and hot for the rest of the pour over, but not with this kettle...it won't turn back on that fast! On the positive side, it does offer a good controlled pour.***Update*** I've had a month to get used to this kettle and I begin to think that the good controlled pour outweighs the negatives.

Great For Pour-Over Coffee!
I love the gooseneck for pour-overs! Nice, smooth, even pour. The tiny black plastic spot on the lid is not worth worrying about. It's miniscule (see pic). I debated that point, but now that I see it, I'm not worried about it.The spots you see at the bottom of the kettle in the pictures are accurate, though. I'm not sure what they are caused by...I am ignoring them for now (subtracted a star). Happy with the overall performance. It heats up fast...much faster than the stove or microwave...and the bottom stays cool. It is so fun to use with a Yitelle metal pour-over filter! Seems like a quirky luxury item...but if you love fresh coffee...you'll love it!Forget plastic machines and paper filters absorbing the natural oils of your coffee...this makes brewing coffee a pleasant, aromatic morning ritual. I use it to make two mugs of coffee. I'd say it can handle 4 mugs max.
