Oh my God these are so so Good!
Long tradition of enjoying these treats! They used to come in the can that you had to insert a key and roll the tin can top off the bottom of the can. This herring is the Best around. Great for heart health and increasing HDL or good cholesterol. There is nothing better on planet earth than New Brunswick Kippered Snacks. I’m sure they will send me a complimentary case of these now that I’ve given a well deserved excellent review. Every time I eat a can, I feel so unworthy of such an extraordinary product. Love the taste and the texture of each can. One a day will keep the cardiologist away! You either you love them or you don’t. I love them! Again there is nothing like them.

Super meaty and tasty!
I love this canned herring. It's super meaty and perfect smoke flavor. I first found it at a Walmart in Canada while on vacation. I have a lot of different food restrictions due to being celiac, lactose intolerant and I follow a low fodmap diet (if you haven't heard of the last one, Google it, it may interest you). I don't get to eat many "ready to eat" products found in grocery stores. So, I decided to try this when I saw the ingredients list was it safe for me and I was already wishing I could try new foods while in Canada; plus I love seafood. I ate it plain the first time in my hotel room and loved it. Since then I've had it mixed with mayo, etc like you would make tuna salad on GF toast or crackers. Add thinly sliced tomatoes to really bring it up a level. Or I just add a little lemon juice and pepper sometimes. Being canned is a huge plus for me too because I am a long haul truck driver and having shelf stable meat that's actually tasty is great. It's convenient and doesn't take up room in my fridge. 18 cans seemed like a lot, but the batch I got is good til March 2019 (today is December 15 2016), plus the price is only about 20 cents more per can than buying in person at a Walmart... and most Walmarts in the US don't have them anyway. Get these, you'll love it if you like fish and smoked meats. I've had people try these who see me grab it from the cupboard and say negative things and they can't believe they like it.

Not very good compared to other brands. It's just scattered meat in a can and not much else to say.
Firstly, this stuff isn't like the fine fillets of smoked herring you get from a brand like MW Polar. It's more like scattered, soft chunks of chewed herring that feels more like eating soggy soup than quality fish. Also, the fake wood smoke flavoring is not appealing. Go with the better brands that actually smoke the fish and carefully pack the fish in neat slices. On the plus side, at least the fish itself is not stinky like some low-quality brands of sardines. But, if you just need meat in a can, then it should suffice. But don't expect to be using these for a fine lunch with bread, crackers, and cheese.

These are the best kippered herring snacks I've had
These are the best kippered herring snacks I've had. My local grocery store stopped selling Brunswick brand for a long time and I tried several other brands, but I had to come back to these. If you enjoy kippers, you won't be disappointed.

Very Good Product.
Ok people, these are readily available at your local grocery store and might be cheaper to buy them there also. I have ate these kippers for many years and I have never been disappointed, My only complaint is that when my case arrived 3 cans on the end of the case box were dented and one was so bad that it had leaked inside the box and smelled like a dead animal was packed in there. USPS needs to handle freight a little bit better, the smell was really overwhelming .

My go-to quick fish snack
To me, these are a better value than other canned fish, and they taste great. My dog also appreciates the juice over his dry food. Never had a problem with anything gross in the cans, and I've probably eaten 200 at this point. Goes great with a beer. No bones.

My Favorite Smoked Herring Fillets!
Brunswick is my favorite brand of boneless smoked herring fillets. They have the perfect amount of smoke taste and consistency. I always refrigerate mine before eating, as I find that to be the perfect way of eating them. And you cannot go wrong with the price of this 18 pack. Although these will last me quite a while, I will most definitely be ordering them again in the future.

Mild tasting fish with zesty lemon & pepper make for versatile, & heart-healthy meal
Brunswick Seafood Snack with lemon juice & cracked pepper is a great herring recipe. The fish is mild & fresh tasting for a canned product and because it doesn't have a smokey flavor it's quite versatile. I add a can to salads or on top of spaghetti or mixed in with roasted vegetables or on toast and served with a bowl of soup. It contains 1.5g of omega-3 heart healthy fats which is nearly twice the amount in an equivalent amount of salmon without the exposure to environmental toxins that larger and longer-lived fish like salmon present. Packs small and is ideal for long RV trips. Another favorite is King Oscar Mediterranean Style Sardines King Oscar Mediterranean Sardines, 3.75 Ounce Tins (Pack of 12) I've found these to be the best tasting sardines and I use them just as I do the Brunswick herring. I also use them as a substitute for anchovies on miniature flat bread or english muffin pizzas. Fresh fish, poultry, and an occasional steak round out my protein options but I eat a lot of these canned beauties.
