I wasn't expecting this handmade instrument to play so lovely. It plays just about the same as the factory-made lower-keyed Irish tin whistles. I use the exact same music and the same playing style as I do with my tin whistles. I say that this "Handmade Wooden Bamboo Flute Basuri" from India is appropriate for any age. I could have learned just as well on this handmade 6-hole flute as on the Irish Tin Whistles manufactured in a factory. This is a good purchase and I will enjoy playing it for many years.
