Laid out like others in the series
Author Marc De Bremaeker has created a series of books on kicking that aims to be quite the encyclopaedia when viewed in its entirety. The first one was the largest (thus far) and then he went into great depth on a range of kicks - specialty books about low kicks and flying kicks and the like. The author admits that many of these kicks are very situational - some only being useful in one or two instances. But despite that this book - like the others in the series - is very comprehensive in addressing the specific type of kick. The book is laid out like the others - we get a description of the kick and a run down of its uses and how to train for it and the sorts of targets to aim for. There are quite useful line drawings and black and white photographs to show what is going on. The author realises the huge benefit of this over text descriptions only. Often the kicks will have some variants listed and the author is not afraid of giving his opinion on the usefulness of some of the moves mentioned. To tell the truth some of these moves seem a little....optimistic but they are fun to look at anyway.A worthy book to add to your shelf. In fact all the works in this series I've thus far bought have been useful. Recommended.

Decent MA
Very informative. I liked the concept of comparing different styles' versions of a specific move within certain parameters. Here Ground Work and the others (low kicks, stop kicks, etc). take me back to the drawing board with a new appreciation for some basics that I have previously taken for granted. I especially liked the conditioning section. I would've liked to have seen a little more on the Capiera moves. It seems that the same Capiera picture or move is used throughout the book where as the other styles had much more in the way of illustration and explanation.

Fun stuff, covers multiple arts
This is great, on a topic that I hadn't seen a book for before. A lot of images, both photographs and illustrations for the moves. Specific descriptions and applications of moves from multiple martial arts that use ground kicks. Includes practice suggests with partners, bags, balls, etc.

This is the only book that covers the subject of ground kicking in depth more than any book or DVD I've ever seen. Great read!
