We purchased our original NutriChef food vacuum sealer in August of 2018, it had worked perfectly for us over the years, no problems or issues and saved us a lot of money. The quality of this product is undeniable, years of service to us and now we have purchased a new one. It comes with easy-to-follow instructions, low noise level, works great for dry or wet storage and food preservation. The unit is very compact, takes little space on the counter and has a nice look to it. Long lasting tool and a very good price. Review: Finally a vacuum sealer that is easy to use and doesn't leak! - I love this thing and use it to seal everything now! I had one in the past but it was hit and miss sometimes on both getting it to seal...and keeping sealed (they seemed to randomly leak air after a while.) It's very compact so I keep it put away until I need to use it. I have tried both dry and moist foods and it seems to work great on both (there is a setting for each.) Plus if you just want to seal something without vacuum, it does a great job of that too. I use the MakMeFre bags with this and have never had a puncture (even when I seal homemade beef jerky.) They work great and are very affordable. Get this sealer and you won't be disappointed!

Works well
Great product. Easy to use and works well. One minor improvement would be to have lines or arrows to make it more obvious where to put the bag.

Exactly what I was hoping for!
Edited review- This vacuum sealer came with a "register & review in 7 days & get 2 free rolls & add a year to your warranty". Well damn, I wasn't ready! Didn't have anything yet to seal! Messed around & didn't post my review till like day 9 or 10. I hoped I had gotten it in "close enough", NO. Oh well. They extended the warranty though, that's cool. Ok. So I really did vac seal the fish. Really was easy & had no problems. Now for my REAL review- now that I've had it longer & used it several times. OMG I had this vacuum sealer in & out of my cart a dozen times, read reviews until I thought my eyeballs would bleed, pondered "will I REALLY use it?"- held my breath & just went for it hoping for the best. I Love this thing SO MUCH!! Since the 1 piece of fish I have done- pork chops, cube steak, raw chicken breasts, cooked chicken, shrimp, more fish and ground beef. All that & I still have some of the roll left that the unit came with (it also came with 4, I think, premade bags- I used those 1st. I think I prefer the roll)! I thought it would be something that I would drag out when I had a bunch to do at once. So far, I have had it out for 1 or 2 things & put it back up- quick & easy!! 2 weeks ago I got almost 3lbs bone in chicken breasts for almost $4. Come home, threw it all in the slow cooker/butter salt & pepper, that evening shredded chicken, divided up for 2 suppers & vac sealed both. Made for quick & easy meals later- chicken chili & quesadillas! I was like "OMG if THIS was the ONLY thing I ever use this thing for it's still worth every penny!". Probably took me, after the chicken was cooked, 10 min to shred, seal & toss in freezer (chicken was spread out on sheet pan as shredded to quick cool). When ready to use it thawed in minutes. Bought family pack of chicken breasts, divided into 3 meals, grilled 2 & sealed 2 meals worth raw. It was no inconvenience to get the sealer out for 2 things & it only took a few minutes. I am SOOO PLEASED with this unit!! I have had no issues with suction or seal. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

Product is great! Used it the first day I received it. Super quick and easy to set up and use. Plus they offer an extended warranty if you register after purchasing.

Garbage can after a year of use.
NutriChef is now a hard “never again” for me. Purchased on November 28, 2024, this vacuum sealer completely died on December 27, 2025, after just a little over a year of normal home use. In the months leading up to failure, the vacuum cycle kept running longer and longer before it would finally trigger the seal, which was a clear sign something was failing. Wet foods were a constant headache with this machine. Any time there was moisture in the bag, liquid would get pulled toward the seal area, leak during the process, and we had to clean the bag and sealing area before freezing, adding extra work every single time. The design is also unnecessarily finicky. You have to make sure it is firmly locked on both the left and right sides before starting, or it will not work properly, which turns a simple sealing task into a two-handed, “did it actually click?” routine. By the time it finally stopped working, we were honestly relieved to throw it out and replace it with something else. After this experience, NutriChef is the trash-bin brand in this kitchen, and we will not be buying this brand again.

Only lasted 4 years (roughly 380 uses)
Absolutely loved it, until it broke. Of all things it was the locking tab. Didn’t break out if neglect, but just a weak spot. Before that I liked the moisture and gentle setting that this unit had over the food saver brand I had before. Price was good and better than name brands. To share how much I used it: I would say I seal 7-8 items a month for 4.2 years (roughly 380 uses). Seems small when I break it down like that. I seal up meat I find on sale or buy at Costco and veggies, berries, and fruit from the garden. Once in a while meals that I’ve made too much of and won’t get through. I went with another brand when it broke and hope this one will last longer.

This is a good product. We are using it for our small scale food business. Quite powerful and efficient

1. There is a lot of plastic waste with this device. It may be true with other devices as well so I don't know if this complaint has value only for this product, or if it's an indictment of all vacuum sealers. 2. It's tricky to get the best vacuum for the product before it auto-seals. 3. If you have a lot of fast turn-around in the freezer, (weeks rather than months) I think you're better off using ziplock bags and not bothering with a vacuum seal. At least ziplock bags can be washed and reused. These are all single-use plastics. 4. This product is best used for items that go in your freezer for a month or more at a time. My turn-around time is shorter than that. 5. Perhaps the cost per item is actually higher than buying ziplock bags. I haven't run the numbers, but the machine is pricey (but not the most expensive one you can buy), and the plastic rolls are expensive too.

OK, I've decided to revise my review after having this unit for a couple of weeks and using it at least 10 times. Do not get discouraged by a few failures. There are a few tricks I learned and am now very pleased with my level of success after a few failures. Lessons learned: 1. Don't skimp on bag size if you're using a roll. Cut a little extra so that when you heat seal one end there is at least a half inch until the bag's trailing end. 2. Ensure the bag's entry end is clean and dry before sealing. Often when putting meat into the bag you leave residue behind. Clean it. 3. Make sure to leave a minimum of 3 inches space at the entry end of the bag after you put the food in. This will ensure a proper seal. 4. Make sure the bag entry end is flat before you hit the vacuum button. I think you'll be pleased with this product overall. BTW, nobody sent me any free bags. Where are my free bags? Hey Nutrichef!!!!!
