Perfect for making your own custom ZTE Mobley cable!
Like everyone else, I wanted a cable that would allow me to use my ZTE Mobley as a mobile hot spot. I also didn't want wait a week to have one shipped to my house. Thanks to Amazon, I was able to get all the parts that I needed to make my own cable within 2 days.A quick breakdown of what I used:1. This cable (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M2VMO4C/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)2. A 5 volt to 12 Volt converter (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01ID90K4A/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)3. A USB power supply which I already owned (https://www.amazon.com/EC-Technology-22400mAh-Capacity-Flashlight/dp/B00FDK2G2C/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1498784785&sr=1-1-spons&keywords=EC+technology+power+bank&psc=1)It took me 10 minutes to get everything cut, wired, soldered and heat shrinked. How I did it:1. Cut the barrel connector off the converter. Be sure to cut close to the connector.2. Remove 2 inches of wire insulation from the wire that you cut. It will reveal 2 conducts (Red and Black). When the USB side is plugged into an adapter, these wires will show 12 volts.3. Strip back enough of each wire and tin them (add solder)4. You'll need to locate the wires for Pin 4, 5 and 16 on your OBD2 cable. The cable I received had Red for pin 16 (positive 12 volts) and both blue and yellow for pins 4 and 5 (Negative / Ground). *Be sure to use a volt meter to ensure that these are the correct colors for the pins on your connector).5. Solder the red wire from the converter to the red wire of the OBD2 cable6. Solder both blue and yellow wires from the OBD2 cable to the black wire of the converter7. Be sure to insulate the solder joints (preferable with heat shrink tubing but electrical table will work if that's all you have). That's it! Now you can plug your cable into any USB outlet and then plug your Mobley into the other end of the cable. The reason I chose USB is due to the wide array of USB adapters available (AC, Cigarette Lighter, Battery Banks, Cars, Laptops, etc..).Total cost to make the cable (excluding the negligible amount of heat shrink tubing and solder I used) was ~ $20.Enjoy!

Ok. It works.
Worked well to make a bench top programming rig. Wires are lighter gauge than I would expect. No wiring chart or diagram supplied so get out your ohm meter and figure it out. yay

Not Pleased
Wires are way too small to work with.

... small guage almost to small to work with and easily broken.
It works but the wires are of a very small guage almost to small to work with and easily broken.

Works great to wire in my Mobley to a 12 volt cigarette lighter
Needed this to solder on a cig lighter adapter to power my Mobley 4G LTE Hotspot while driving my motorhome. (no ODBII connector)You cannot beat the new AT&T "Connected Car" plan that gives you 22 GB of high speed data for $20 a month!

Three Stars
Exactly what I needed, takes a fair amount of work with a Meter to determine pin to wire color.
