42 Color Sewing Thread Kit

I am very disappointed. Thread is of poorer quality and the amount is about one fourth of other brands but for the price I figured I got what I paid for. However, if 2 spool of black threads are representative what I should expect from the rest, they are not usable for machine sewing. Both spool did not have thread wound properly and I could not find beginning of the thread. After spending much longer than necessary pulling and prodding thought I found it. Thread broke multiple times while machine sewing. Apparently, thread decided to switch where it would lay on the spool, burrowing it self indiscriminately. I finally gave up on 1st spool. 2nd spool, I could not find the start so I cut a layer in search and finally gave up. Unless you are hand sewing and have lot of time and patience, don't buy.

The spools don't have much thread on them, which I kind of expected given the price. I bought it for my daughter to have a starter set of thread colors to use on her new sewing machine. It has a nice assortment of thread colors, the thread seems standard quality but she hasn't used it yet. It comes in a bag & got tangled up, I put them in a box to gift to her.

These are a good value, and they have a large assortment of colors. They are strong although if you were to pull on them too hard, they will break. But that’s the same with any thread.I suggest getting them

Where to start? I still cannot find the beginning of the spool. It unwinds from the UNDERSIDE!!!! Tonight I wasted almost an hour manually pulling the thread out. Finally PULLED enough thread to spin about 5 feet on a bobbin. And then manually pulled about 5 feet OFF the spool, and manually REWound it onto an empty spool I just happened to have. Dang. Foolish me thought it was a good value. I have only used 6 colors from the batch, and have had to FIGHT the unwinding process on every one. I'm 65, and have been sewing since I was in the 4th grade. All I can say is if you read this review and still buy this "bargain" thread, then you will have wasted your $$s. I'm furious with MYSELF for not returning it within the returns window. Lesson learned. Interestingly ... I've found 21 Coats & Clark spools of thread from my Great Aunt's sewing stash (1940s - 1980s some on wooden spools!! ), and am using them until they run out. They sew marvelously ... unwind effortlessly (from the TOP!) and don't break mid-stitch. THE worthless ones that I bought from the Amazon seller HAVE BEEN TOSSED INTO THE GARBAGE.

I bought this for my mother who loves sewing. She uses these every day, very durable, works in her sewing machine. Great for beginners also if they are just starting out. Great value for the money.
