Bought the collection mainly to watch "The Great Escape" once again. Not like in the theater, but the disc played fine. Some time went by and decided to watch "The Seven". Again, no problems. Well time passed and thought I would watch the original "Crown Affair" only to find the disc started up, gave the standard copyright warning and nothing! Just dead. By this time I could not return the discs as the 30 days had expired. Just for kicks decided to try "Sand Pebbles". Guess what? Played all the way to the "show movie" and all that played was sound - no picture. Fast forward and the movie credits will play. No picture.Oh well. Did not follow my rule with BluRay (or any) discs. On receipt, play them until the movie starts and watch a minute or two. Especially these old flicks that have been reformatted to BluRay.

I purchased this for 'The Great Escape' which I saw many many years ago. I got a great deal on a "used" set from a third party. It turned out to be brand new in original shrink wrap for half the "new" price. I watched the "The Great Escape," it was better than I remembered. And I will for sure be watching it again. I watched the other movies and found them all to be excellent. "The Sand Pebbles" was my second favorite. The picture quality was great. Some reviews mention disc problems, the only thing I noticed was one movie, I think "Sand Pebbles" showed a black screen during part of the opening credits, I fast-forwarded through that and had no issues with the actual movie playback. Very highly recommended set. I will rewatch all of them at some point.

This was an awesome addition to my collection. I was looking for The Sand Pebbles and for a little bit more got 3 more awesome films and each one has an awesome commentary track!
