Fly12 1080p HD Bike Camera and 400 Lumen Bicycle light

Bright light. Good variety of settings. The video stays clear, even in nasty raining weather. The instructions are easy to follow and once set up is done, the light/camera is easy to use. Makes for an affordable camera for commuting. Two things to remember when purchasing this unit. First, it's not an action camera. It's a camera for commuting. It makes it possible to show the license plates of the car that was not playing nice or the vehicle that picks you off when riding. The video is a loop. If you don't need the video, it will automatically write over old video. If you want a camera to film you jumping off ramps and hillsides, this is not the camera for you. Second, It's more than a camera. You get this light because you need a camera and a light for commuting. It saves space on your handle bars. The light is beautiful. It's very bright and has an array of settings. The camera will film well in bright or dim light and the lights can make a dark night light up extremely well.The one downside I have found is the battery life in cold weather. I commute in below freezing weather and cold weather from about 45 degrees down, really decreases the battery life. When it was 15 degrees, the batter dropped from 7 hours down to 45 minutes. The battery and light put out some good heat so I fixed the problem by cutting down a can koozie (Neoprene holder for soda cans) and sewing it to fit over the light. The light has been running for hours with the cover over the top.

Great quality video compared to my Contour action cam. I have been using Contour cameras for years, but they don't protect video files upon impact, so made the switch. Hoping not to ever have to test that function of the camera. The long lasting battery was the selling point for me as this unit is twice the weight of the Contour action cam, but the bright LED strobe was a selling point.For now, I can't give 5 stars as I already had to do a factory reset on the unit on the second day of owning this. Hoping it may have been a one time issue or I will not be a happy camper. Will just have to see what Cycliq's customer service is like if that happens.UPDATE 12/27/18Well, the camera died. It won't charge. It won't turn on. Let's see now if Cycliq customer service is legit or not.UPDATE 3/16/19Cycliq customer service was good in walking me through a master reset, but another issue came up and the camera is not recording despite being turned on, etc. Opened up another ticket so will see what they do this time.

Into my 3rd week of use and it's OK. Since my primary reason to get it was assurance to go along with my Fly6 that I have been using for over a year then in that regard it is still a great product. However after watching the marketing blurb ahead of launch it hasn't really lived up to all that promise and in that regard for the price ($349) has been just okay (maybe a 3.5 star) - here's why...i) it is way heavier than I was expecting - yes it is both a light and a fine 1080P camera, but in my opinion it is still just too heavy - I was expecting it to be closer overall to the Fly6 weight.ii) Mounting for me is more appropriate to go beneath the bars and under the Garmin computer - I'm going to guess that possibly half the users will attach below rather than above considering how you want the computer to be your primary visual. But ...once upside down you cannot see any LED - plus it isn't so easy to know which button is which and what the hell it is doing without stopping and looking. I think this was quite an oversight by the design team- even a smaller LED at the rear might have been enough to correct this if not an LED at both top and bottom.iv) I am not a fan of the Gopro style mount - it means every time it is installed it needs to be checked for vertical alignment, and it is fiddly to get on and off (again partly because of the mounting beneath the bars).iii) The app is a bit clunky but it is on the right track - however it isn't that intuitive and the Strava overlay has been a right pain to get working or to have enough memory to save any meaningful length of video. This is a shame because I do think this is one of the best aspects and makes it more than just a safety net for a collision or dangerous driver.I do like the construction, I like the visual appeal, I like the video quality and I still like the overall concept which I always have done with my FLY6 - my first instinct though was to wait until gen2 or gen3 version came out and now I wish I had.

The camera works fine, but the instructions that come with the whole thing are just terrible... broken english and hard to understand. It tooks me weeks to set up properly.

Ho atteso qualche mese prima di pubblicare la recensione. Premetto di essere un po’ contrariato per averlo pagato a prezzo pieno solamente cinque mesi fa. Ora c’è un’offerta fantastica, che consiglio di non perdere. Il motivo? È un prodotto unico. È praticamente una dashboard camera creata per la sicurezza durante l’anno circolazione. Purtroppo ho subito diversi incidenti stradali in bici, e ho avuto la fortuna di trovare brave persone che si sono fermate e hanno testimoniato la verità, ma non faccio affidamento su questa fortuna. Meglio farsela da sé la fortuna. Pochi euro ben spesi per avere sempre le immagini del proprio incidente. Naturalmente si spera di non doverla mai utilizzare...ma è così anche per i caschi, che pure si vendono (e in bici non sono obbligatori...).Ha comunque ottime caratteristiche anche per fare filmati a scopo ludico e funzioni dedicate uniche, oltre alle caratteristiche fuori dal comune: impermeabile, lunghissima durata della batteria e della scheda microsd, riconoscimento del sinistro e blocco dei filmati in memoria, che invece normalmente sovrascrive per registrare sempre. Molto faciel da usare, perde un po’ nel collegamento a smartphone, tablet e pc. A volte è complicato e le istruzioni non aiutano davvero. Però col tempo ci si fa la mano. Più che consigliata. Poi a questo prezzo...

Simply this camera/light combo is one of the best around at the moment, I'm so impressed with this bit of kit, the light is just brilliant and has plenty of power to light up the whole road inc all the road signs from a very far distance, as for the HD camera that too is brilliant, excellent picture quality and the inbuilt mic is good too, personally im not bothered that its not a 4k cam and to be honest 4k is a bit of a gimmic over 1080p, since when has 1080p not been good enough? If you really want a 4k cam then slap another £100+ on the purchase price. I'm not a professional cyclist by any means I just wanted a high quality cam and light, this has delivered in all fronts, fully HD, water & mud resistant, built in long-lasting battery, mega bright light with tons of settings, alarm, Bluetooth and wireless, however the wireless is only to connect to your phone / lap or desktop pc/Mac to view footage or change settings, it will not connect to the internet.Comes in sturdy packaging with everything you need to get going straight away, I could bang on about this item for ages, but to sum up without going into a technical depth, it's perfect for me, an all in one tidy smart looking unit, I'm not disappointed at all and I highly recommend it to everyone, yes it's over couple of ton but you'll soon see why when you own one. Thank you to Amazon too, brillant service as always.
