The Perfect Sushi gadget!
This has got to be one of the best purchases I've made thus far!! It took me doing one sushi roll to get the hang of using it but now that I'm comfortable with it, I'm a sushi making machine! My 6 yr old told me I'm the best sushi maker and proceeded to eat all of her sushi and half of mine haha! I'm even thinking of having a sushi girls night and having my friends purchase this gadget and bring it over and we can make diff rolls all at once! What a Great inexpensive way to make sushi at home and not break the bank! Pro tip: I used the cooked sushi rice you can find at most Asian stores to save me time, and also added a little rice vinegar to the rice to give it that authentic sushi taste! And also kept a cup of water on the side that I dipped my fingers in to help put the rice into the sushi maker because FYI sushi rice is super sticky! Hope that info helps!

Perfect sushi making starter!
This product was perfect for making sushi! We use it almost twice a week (we have a sushi loving problem). It can be a little difficult at first to use but once you get the hang of it, it works great! Comes apart real easy so it’s easy to clean. We have not washed it in the dishwasher because we are afraid it would mess it up, but it’s pretty easy to clean by hand. Best homemade sushi I’ve had using this thing!

Too much rice
It is as advertised. Good quality and easy to clean. The two sides don’t sit quite securely when trying to close with fillings so it takes a moment to coordinate. Delivery was fast and packaging was sufficient. Absolutely no issue there. My biggest problem with this is the proportions of the rice to filling. I’ve rolled my own with a mat for 15 years, but bought this thinking this could make it a bit less of a production. But following the instructions, the finished product was about 2 inches wide, about twice the size of a handroll which might not have been a problem if the filling cavity created by the press rod as shown in the instructions wasn’t so small. The final product was about 75% rice, which is a lot, especially for such a large roll to start with. If the inside diameter of the tube was reduced by half with the same size filling rod press, this would be great. This could be fun for kids to make their own but unless you like a lot of rice in a large roll, maybe skip this. For me, it’s back to the mat.

Gimmicky
It might be considered fun to use this gadget but it’s not easy and you have to use nori sheets to cut the roll and hold the pieces.

Bazooka makes perfect sushi roll.
We got a perfect roll first time we used it. BUT one of us had experience making sushi the old fashioned way so we kind of knew what we were doing. Best if you go on You tube and look at some videos. Keep in mind you need to use sushi rice and treat it with vinegar and a little sugar for best results. Google sushi rice recipes or get a recipe book. When using don't put in too much rice or it won't close. just cover the bottom/sides and then make your little ditch for the fillings. Good. Fun. I got two of these, each from a different place so you might see this review twice.

Did not love it
Thought I'd love it and i wanted to but i just didn't. First, the instructions that it came with were in German (I believe, could be wrong). It was super hard to figure out but maybe we did it wrong. We made California Rolls for the first time and the taste was excellent, where we failed was putting them together. They looked right but broke easily as you basically are putting two halves together. We needed extra rice to make sure the two halves would bind and they sorta did but still felt apart.Additionally, we ended up with way too much rice, not sure we could do it differently because we were not using seaweed on the outside as I like it better when seaweed is in the inside with the exposed rice and sesame seeds. I'd say, if you do get it make sure you are using seaweed to wrap the sushi and measure the rice so you end up with consistent rolls. We didn't measure the rice so we ended up with inconsistent size rolls. I haven't tried but I feel like the bamboo mat is probably easier to use, we'll see.
