This works for my intended purposes. It is loud, it is simple, and it works. The battery it came with died after about a month, time will tell how long the current one will last, so I recommend having a back up. But it serves it's purpose.

Instructions to set alarm could be better.

Pros:The loud alarm!The white dial on black. (Easy to read).The lightweight plastic. (Easy to lift in order to shut off the alarm).The battery comes with it.It seems to keep time accurately (according to my computer clock).Cons:.The lightweight plastic (I would not want to knock it onto the floor).The 'night-light' (lights numbers 10 & 11.)The dodgy second hand (It zooms around the clock without a pause, but since the clock coincides with Apple Time, I'm not complaining).I was unaware of the "volume control", and since it wakes me up in the morning, in no uncertain terms, I am not going to look for this option.

I kept sleeping through the alarm on my phone. After purchasing this alarm I have not overslept since. I'm a very sound sleeper and it wakes me up every morning.

Merchandise is easy to read instructions. brightness, and loud enough to wake the heavy sleepers.

I got this because I guess I had become so accustomed to my phone alarms that I was sleeping through them in the morning.It works. Old school hammer whacking between two bells full force scared the living hell out of me the first morning. I bolted out of bed like the place was on fire, my heart pounding from the mental whiplash of going from 0 to 90 in the split second it took me to levitate across the room to shut this thing off. Indeed I was awake.I have since placed two small pieces of electrical tape directly where the hammers hit the bells and it really helps to bring it down a notch, still loud and effective but doesn’t sound like a vintage fire truck is in your room.
