The Children's Illustrated Bible, Small Edition Hardcover – Picture Book, February 21, 2005

Beautiful book has beautiful illustrations, perfect for my tween grandsons. They have been reading a children’s Bible and this version is now their reading level. There was a previous review that indicated the author did not read the book as there was a mistake.book.They wrote: The book tells after selling Joseph his brothers killed a young kid and dip Joseph's coat in that young kid's blood. That horrified my kids. They ask why they are so cruel to kill a young kid. Sad to know they did not know a “kid” is a was a baby goat, not a human child. I guess they didn’t bother to check the internet for the possible definition of kid. Oh, well. My grandsons love it and are reading it regularly. This makes me so happy and proud.

Great story bible for kids. I was looking for a Bible that had more stories than your typical volume.This is it! The stories aren't long, but that leaves time for discussion. Great pictures and information abouteach story, the cultures, ect.The only drawback is the print size, it's a bit small. But then, with more stories the book is more compressed. Otherwise,it might be huge! So there's a tradeoff, but I'll take it.About 140 stories, with pages devoted to describing each arc. Creation, the Patriarchs, Egypt, Canaan, Conquering Nations, ect.It's small, but thorough. I recommend it for kids with a good understanding of the basics, ready to move deeper with parental guidance.

The service I received upon ordering and receiving The Children's Illustrated Bible is unbelievable. As it turned out, the Bible was not the one I intended to get for a five year old. The print was much too small and the language much too advanced for him. However, when I called Amazon and talked with one of your exceptionally gracious and helpful associates, I explained that I had intended to get a Bible that had large lettering and much white space. She immediately knew what I wanted and guided me through the process of actually looking at the Bible she had suggested. It was exactly what I wanted!! This young lady was ever so helpful and made sure that the Bible was shipped and received in time for Christmas!I can never thank her enough for the service she provided me nor Amazon for including on its staff persons who have such exceptional customer service skills. What a nice Bible. As a senior adult I am pleased with the stories, the art work and in general how interesting the stories are written not only for children but for adults to enjoy. I am very impressed with the writing. I was brought up Catholic and was not exposed to much of the stories. I find these very interesting and informative for things I have missed. I highly recommend this book for enjoyment and knowledge.

The book is very good for young readers. The stories are presented in language that is easy to understand. The illustrations are period appropriate. I read some stories from this book to a group of 3rd graders and it held their attention. The only downside was to do with the actual print edition of the book. I did not realize that the book was going to be a miniature version of what the picture leads one to believe. I should have checked product specifications. The writing is very small - not ideal for children.

I like this Bible because of the historical illustrations which give an idea of what life was like in Biblical times. I think it would be good for kids about 6-10. The pages are small - but lavishly illustrated. Stays true to the good book.

EXCELLENT BOOK. Great pictures. Easy to read font. Seems to be KJV from what I have read. Very well made. Keeps to God's word without diluting or minimizing what God has said and done. Doesn't use dumb-down language. Great opportunity to teach not only God's word but build my grandchilds vocabulary.

My grandson loves books and I wanted him to have a bible so at age 6 I thought this was a good fit for him at this time! Although he lives in a another state he told me he likes it 6
