The Bullet Journal for Beginners Paperback – January 29, 2017

As a newbie to the world of bullet journals, I can't even count how many blogs, apps, Pinterest boards, and posts I've looked at while gathering ideas on how to set up my own journal. This book is plain and straightforward about the basics of bullet journaling. It does offer some design ideas, but the main focus is on how to create the content for your journal that will be the most helpful to you, not just what will look cute or pretty. Most of the book is examples of journal layouts and diagrams, with the instructional part in the beginning.

I have been packing my bullet journal everywhere with me. Read the book, looking of pinterest, facebook & on line.Have I started mine yet after a month??I have my icon'sUhhh, it will be Aug 1st soon and I so wanted to have it going. I was hoping this system would really help me stay organized and save my memories but I have too much life going on? I do recommend this book for beginners & it is true, don't wait till it is perfect, just do it. Unfortunaltly I wanted mine perfect so I haven't started it yet. OHHHHH.

I really love this book. I'm new to journaling and it has great ideas. This isn't an instructional book it's just a book with lots of ideas in picture format, just flip through the pages and try something. My 10 year old granddaughter and I have started bullet journaling together, this has been a great help to her too. I went ahead and and bought her a copy too, she takes this and her dot grid spiral notebook with her everywhere she goes.

I just received this today and after a very quick flip-through I put in a return request. I hate to leave a negative review as I am sure that the author made this book with the best of intentions. That being said, once you get past the cover, it's over-all quality is reminiscent of a zine from the '80's. Basically, it's Xeroxed copies of a poorly written journal. If you follow any of the bullet journal sites for inspiration, this book will seem amateurish at best. It is very basic and not at all pleasing to read. I will give it two stars as it may be helpful to someone who just wants ideas on list-making. Otherwise, go on-line and visit Bohoberry or other bullet journal sites.

Bought this because I was starting my own bullet journal. Has some examples and artwork to use, but it really wasn't for me. I learned a lot more from YouTube videos, but it may be useful for another beginner.

There wasn’t just one thing , the book was great all away around

I don't normally write reviews, but hope this will help someone else who is contemplating purchasing the book. For some reason, I let the 4 stars guide me rather than reading individual reviews. The book mainly contains less than optimal reproductions (black and white) of rather whimsical journal pages I purchased the book as part of a gift for someone who wants to start a bullet journal, and frankly I don't think there is anything in the book he will find useful. It doesn't contain the how's and why's of bullet journaling, nor does it address road blocks to beginning a journal. This would definitely be considered a "picture book." I am a person who would just keep the book if I could find any usefulness for it, but this one I'll be returning.

This hit the spot for what I needed. It was basic, explained the bullet journal concept well, and provided many possible templates for the different types of entries. I found that the analog/print nature of the book was a lot more effective for me to get up and running than any of the websites I looked at. I especially like that it progressed from the most basic of layouts to then alternate ones.

Expensive for what it is.......

You won't find much explanations in this book, so if you are searching for a detailed guide on bullet journaling, this may not be for you. However, I'm giving it 4 stars because it is very user friendly, it insists on the importance of not being worried that your BuJo is not perfect (something that many BuJo users don't seem to understand) and it offers a variety of layouts, doodles, comic bubbles and ribbons. If you are dying to get into your new BuJo and just new ideas or prompts, this is perfect for you.I do think that it is a bit overpriced for what it offers.

Mir gefällt es gut! Gut erklärt, zwar auf englisch - doch das ist gut zu verstehen und simpel. Die Ideen sind alle gut umsetzbar und machen Spaß. Auch schön als Geschenk für kreative kleine Designer - die noch in ihrer Entwicklung sind :)
