Urban Street Soccer Ball (Size 5)

I'm a runner who also plays soccer. I don't plan on playing soccer with this ball. I wanted to get better with my touches so I ordered this ball to take with me on my runs. So far, I've run over 16 miles on pavement with the ball and the ball has performed perfectly. I feel I've gotten better with ball handling. I haven't had to inflate it since I originally got it and the material of the ball feels like it will last the long miles on pavement. The ball works just like I had hoped it would.

The Uber Soccer Urban Street Soccer Ball that I received was well made and has been holding up great for the past 5 months since it was delivered (the picture shows what it looks like after using a little less than once a week for 5 months). We use it at a paved area at a local school when the school turf field is occupied. The whole point of getting it was to have a ball to kick on pavement without ruining it. However, I got much more than I hoped for:This ball has drastically improved my ball handling skills.1. One reason is that the rubber on the ball makes it stickier. This forces better control. For example, if you trap a normal soccer ball between the inside and the bottom of your foot, you can easily step down because it will slide from your foot and slide on the grass. To the contrary, if you trap this street soccer ball in the same manner, it sticks to your foot, as well as the pavement, making it more difficult to take a step without pulling your foot away.2. Another reason it should improve your ball handling skills is that it bounces more than a basketball on pavement. This, along with the stickiness, makes it harder to pass the ball while keeping it on the ground. This also makes it harder to trap due to it bouncing more. Even if you stop the bouncing ball from going past you without completely trapping it, it will keep bouncing, making it harder to control, and even trapping it will be more difficult. If you try to trap it under your foot, you have to be careful not to fall down due to the ball sticking to your foot and the ground. Yes, I have fallen a couple of times due to trapping it from above.3. Another reason it will improve your ball handling skills is that it is heavier and rougher than a normal soccer ball. This means it will be mildly annoying if you trap it with, for example, the ankle bone part of your leg. This will help you rely on accurately using your foot to trap the ball. The heavy aspect also makes it harder to kick the ball high and far, forcing you to kick it harder with more loft.Note that by saying "sticky," I do not mean that there is some glue-type residue on the ball. I just mean the rubber and the rough surface will prevent it from skidding on your foot and the pavement.Regardless of all the possible reasons it can improve your skill, it has definitely improved mine. Playing with a normal soccer ball seems so much easier after playing with this street ball.

Bought this ball for my teenage son to take to school so he wouldn't destroy is $$$ soccer balls he uses for his club team. The actual ball is more like a thicker kickball, it's rubber so they are calling it a soccer ball but it really isn't, it's a rubber kickball that has molded lines on it to look like a soccer ball. The main issue though is that the air valve broke after 3 days of use and now it's not usable because it leaks air.

Purchased for our son as he is always outside in our cu l de sac playing soccer and the regular soccer balls were getting chewed up. This new material is slightly heavier but takes a beating on asphalt.

Holds up great to orphanage fields in Uganda. Highly recommend.

I've been beating the crap out of this ball with my new sambas at least twice a day on asphalt. Aside from paint fading just a bit, the ball has held up better than expected. Strongly recommended for futsal or concrete play.

3 stars for product, extremely durable, tooo durable for soccer ball. Feels more like a basketball. Good for street soccer but not for tricks or futsol

Very durable ball. My kids have been using this on an asphalt surface and shooting against a brick wall with no problems with the ball at all.
