YUNSONG Wall Charger Dual USB Universal Portable Charger with Smart Technology

Debated between 3 and 4 stars on this, but giving it the round up based on the $7 price point. The charger arrived earlier today and I put it to immediate use trying to simultaneously charge both my Galaxy S8 and iPhone 7.Saw the 2.1 rapid charge when only one was plugged in, but the speed took a quick dive when trying to do both. The charger does heat up a bit when attempting both at the same time. And an annoying little flaw I had to recognize off the bat was the fact that the charger does not work if the USB is pushed in all the way - need to keep it slightly pulled out for the charger to function.As long as you are only charging 1 device at a time this thing serves its purpose for an inexpensive value.

I guess I shouldn't complain about this wall charger, considering it was $7 and is really compact (which is exactly what I was looking for, because I just hate wall chargers that are bulky and/or block other outlets on the wall). But my problem with it is that I wanted a wall charger that allowed me to change 2 devices at once, and this one works fine if I connect 1 device; however, if I connect 2, it buzzes and gets really hot, which makes me worry about the possibility of having an electrical accident any time. It's not like I was trying to charge 2 devices that needed tons of electricity, or at least I don't consider a cellphone and an MP3 player devices that voraciously 'eat' electricity. So, because I can still use this charger but not in the way that it was supposed to, I decided to give it 2 stars. I'll keep looking for my perfect charger...

Identical to the Azumi brand dual port charger. Same markings down to the amps, voltage and place of manufacture: Shenzhen. I bought both because they don't have foldable plugs. Am going to use one in a garage door opener to power a laser parking guide, and I don't want a moving part that will vibrate. This is a heavy and substantial charger that can simultaneously charge an Apple watch and iphone. I would not charge my ipad, however, because this charger gets surprisingly hot when doing so. I've tried it, but i chicken out each time because of the heat. Recommended for charging smaller USB devices; will stick to the original charger for charging my ipad.

I use this on my reloading bench to keep my Amazon Basics speaker  AmazonBasics Wireless Bluetooth Dual 3W Speaker with Built-in Microphone - White  charged, and also to power my Echo Dot  Echo Dot (2nd Generation) - Black . I could also use it to charge my iPhone if I needed because its smart charge feature works with Apple devices too. I really like being able to synch up the Dot with the speakers, then say "Alexa, play me some classic rock..." and just like magic, I'm reloading ammo to Deep Purple, Jethro Tull, Doobie Bros, or some other great old guy music. All that from a little wall charger cube!

So, this wall charger **could** have a slight problem, but I don't know for sure. I paired this wall charger with the following cable (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DYWC26G/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_2). And when using this combination of wall charger + cable, they produce an annoying, high-pitched buzzing sound when charging my phone past 80% (but not before it reaches 80%). Since I don't know which part is the problem, I'm taking 1 star off from both.Other than the buzz, this charger works exactly as it should, charges my phone (quickly too).

It gets hot. Like really hot. It seems to auto shut off when charging is complete and then it cools down but charging 2 phone at the same time this thing gets so hot. I didn't want to leave anything plugged in when I left home in fear that it would cause a fire. I was probably over-sensitive in that thinking but it gets really hot. Just be smart about this. plug it in and don't block it with a blanket or a bag leaning against it. Charges fast and has worked well for the past month or so.

This is a very fast charging base and can be used with any of the USB charging cords that I already have. I love that I can plug in two cords at once because my kids often fight over who gets to charge their tablet first - now they can charge two at once. It charges my phone quickly while other charging bases that I have take longer. Very happy with this purchase, I'll probably order a second one since we are often charging multiple devices here.
