Exact replacement for old fixture that had the socket corrode.

I purchased 2 of these to replace an old fixture. The new ones are good qualtity, look nice and have a bulb cover. The only area that I had a little difficulty was getting the bulb cover back on. It has to be tight to be waterproof.

Have several large bullet fixtures outdoors and one bit the dust. Could not find manufacturer label or duplicate online. This looked close and had additional benefti of sealed lens. Good quality manufacturing, will updgrade other fixtures in future with these

I was replacing an older Hubbell green bullet lamp that had given me years of great service. It was no longer functioning, so I bought this model for the repair. I had the old next to this model, and it is just plain cheaply made. The old model had a lamp retainer before you screwed the bulb in, so if water or condensation did occur, it would not go directly into the socket. Just a socket in the new model. After taking the lens off, and placing a bulb in, the holes for the screws to secure the lens did not align. I ended up drilling two bigger holes in order to insert the screws. I will have to waterproof it tomorrow. If that was not enough, I put a socket on the bolt that tightens and loosens the aiming knuckle, and the paint circumfrencing the bolt all came off. That never happened with the old model in the numerous times I had adjusted it. This is a cheap powder-coat finish that will scratch easily! The price is higher now, but the quality has deteriorated. I would think with the surge in powerful low voltage lighting, they would try to make a better product to compete. They did not.

These lights are well constructed with one exception. The wires for the light go through the elbow or swivel joint with no type of seal. When, not if, water gets inside the fixture, and you happen to aim this light above 90 degrees, the water flows into your "suitable for wet location" box. I replaced 5 of these lights and 4 of the 5 all had water inside the box. After aiming the replacements I pumped a couple of squirts of silicone seal where the wires travel down. Only been in 30 days so we shall see.
