I wanted to be able to use my Logitech wireless keyboard/trackpad for the devices in my gaming room without having to unplug the dongle and move it between devices. This switch allows me use the keyboard for my Smart TV, Xbox One, and the gaming laptop I have connected to the television. I've even connected my tablet to the box and it works for it as well. The push buttons to switch between devices seem robust and I expect that this metal case switch box will last. I also like that all connections are at the rear of the boxNote that this item does not come with USB cables. You will need cables with the less common Type B male connector to plug into the box with the appropriate type A or type C connector at the other end for your computer, console, etc. Your peripheral (e.g. mouse, keyboard, hub) will plug in to the box with the familiar type A connector. There is another listing for a similar box that comes with the Type B cables.There are dozens of items out there like this one. However, for this price, I can't imagine a better solution if you have multiple devices that need to share a single peripheral or hub (and have Type B USB cables laying around).

I have a PowerMac G4, a MacBook Pro, and a PC, all in use. I have the video hooked up to the various inputs of my monitor, and just needed a way to share my keyboard, mouse, Contour Shuttle, and flash drives. Although this switch can only connect to one such device, it seems to work perfectly if that device is a USB 2.0 hub to which all the above are connected.The switch feels solid. As mentioned by another reviewer, it appears to be a mechanical switch rather than an electronic one. I consider this a plus, as it therefore consumes no power and is not going to freeze up.The one down side: It has no rubber feet to protect the surface it is sitting on. Rubber feet can be purchased for practically nothing, or another solution can be found such as placing it on a mat of some sort.I consider this device to provide very high value for the money.

I have been jumping back and forth from one laptop to another at home because one was connected to the printer and the other, my work laptop was not. Last week on a whim I plugged my printer into work laptop and to my surprise, it recognized it immediately and started working. Now I just had to find and way to avoid having to shift the cable cord from one laptop to another every time I wanted to print something. I went onto Amazon looking for some kind of printer hub and found this. I literally just plugged both laptops in with the one printer. Works flawlessly. Just push the button for the laptop I want to print from and thats it! My productivity has just gone up and my frustration way down. Awesome!!!

This 4 Port USB 2.0 Manual Share Sharing is a great device for people looking for a keyboard management solution for multiple PCs. It uses a simple push button design, much like an HDMI switch, and is small enough and light enough to sit directly on your PC with no problem.It works well with Windows 10 and Linux. I have not tested it with Macintosh, earlier versions or Windows, the various flavors of BSD, or more exotic ecosystems such as Plan 9. That being said, it would most likely work with any system that has USB support. It's simple circuit switching design requires no external software to run.The aluminium design of the enclosure is a very nice feature. It seems quite durable, and it looks nice with it's black paint job. It has four USB connectors for output to computing devices and one USB Type A connector for input. The only thing lacking is the USB cables. If you don't have any, be sure to pick some up.Cheers

I got one of these to test with a Logitech G700 gaming mouse. It works as described, without a fluke and setup took about 13 seconds. I'm ordering another one for my keyboard.***Don't get confused, though***The labeling on the back is a little misleading. You need one of these things "per device." So if you're planning to share three input devices (mouse, keyboard, printer ect...) you'll need three of these switches. Each one of them can share a USB device with as much as four machines, but each switch only accepts input from one individual device. Also remember, the input device is shared with one machine at a time. You can't use your mouse and keyboard on two computers at once, this allows you seamlessly switch between them. You will also need your own USB "B" type cable...not included.

Update: Removed 2 starts, because it started being intermittent after many months of use. I switched to an electronic USB switch to prevent the intermittent connection issues that can happen with a mechanical switch like this.Original: I got this to switch my keyboard and mouse between 2 computers, and possibly more computers on rare occasions. It works well. My wired keyboard has a USB port (actually 2) that my wireless mouse receiver plugs into.It's also nice and small, and I like that the buttons are on the front and all the USB connectors are on the back. And the price was very good. I already have plenty of good old USB A to B cables, so I was fine paying less for a unit without cables.To switch my dual monitors between the 2 computers, I use the input selector on each monitor, so I only needed to switch keyboard and mouse.
