Geriatric pets enjoy it -- horse and dogs
My 30+ yr old horse lost weight this past winter living in the herd. So I'm giving 10-14 pumps of this per day, twice per day, with his grain as he builds back up his weight and nutrients. I sometimes add a dollop of applesauce as well. My horse eats this fish oil in his grain with out any issue. I was seeking a fish oil because it provides more usable Omega-3 than ground flaxseed which we have used in the past. Chose this one because it's wild caught and because the description said there is no scent. I'm very happy about the quality of this item -- excellent aluminum container, sealed very well, pump works well. I intend to use it all up in the next couple months, and the label says to be used within 90 days. I'm giving to both of our 13 yr old dogs daily now as well. Everyone likes it. Great price for the amount, and very little fish scent.

So Far So Awesome
First off, I love how this arrived. This has its own very sturdy box with all the information about this particular fish oil. When I opened it, I was glad to find it in a SEALED container which is NOT made of plastic and arrives leaking all over the place, like the Grizzly brand's salmon oil (never again, by the way, because after a short time and even in the fridge, that oil became stale and all the smells of the fridge contaminated it because of its loose and messy pump). This, however, had a silicone cork-like seal which was then wrapped in foil like a new bottle of wine. The pump was separately placed on the side. The foil was easy to snip off; the seal was easy to unplug; and the pump was easy to insert and close into place. (I'm so glad mine arrived with a good pump.)The next step was to see how my picky and sensitive shepherd would like this oil's taste. Voila! He loves it. I like how this fish oil looks like the real thing. When you bake or broil fish in the oven, it's natural juices come out to baste itself - light and lightly fragrant. That's what this fish oil looks and smells like. And there is NO herb added - it's pure. No rosemary (even though my dog likes rosemary, I prefer to add herbs myself if need be). I have even sauteed his food in this oil, on the occasions that I cook him meals as a treat. His coat looks awesome (other dog owners have noticed and commented on this, asking what I do for him) and I even think his skin allergies have subsided - much less scratching! We are very happy with this product.(MADE IN ICELAND AND NORWAY)

Cats & Dogs Are Loving This Together!
Both of our large Nordic Breed dogs enjoy fish, and this product provided the essential fatty acids (EFA), their Vet recommends we use to supplement their dry kibble diet. We've noticed shinier coats, less shedding and the fact our two picky rescue cats seem to love it as well. The older, DLH kitty is happy now with one 'squirt' on her dry food per day and there has been less hacking up of those dreaded hair balls as a bonus to the silkier fur.At first I was hesitant to purchase a product containing anchovies and sardines, worrying about the potential stink factor. Happy to say this stuff really is next to scentless and we are planning to buy more when this runs out.Update: We've recently added another Siberian Husky to our family pack, this one with thicker, wooly coat. Each dog is now getting 3 pumps on their morning kibble, and I am glad to see that even with temperatures currently in mid 80's, their shedding is at an absolute minimum!Huskies are also prone to a particular type of dermatitis, but no unusual scratching or biting seen here.It is further reassuring to know that this high quality product is produced up to pharmaceutical standards. Many may not realize that fish oils are prone to pollutants, especially heavy metals such as mercury. Not an issue here, and another plus is that each teaspoonful contains 727 mg EPA and 498 mg DHA. Colorado State Vet Program has a chart available for suggested supplementation levels of EFA, and it is higher than you might imagine. Iceland Pure is on automatic reorder, a great value for solid benefits.

My favorite fish oil
I have tried many fish oils over the past almost 15 years and this is by far my favorite. I have been purchasing it off and on for the past 5 years. My dogs were shedding terribly this year so I bought a bottle of this and within weeks of use their coats are lustrous and shedding has decreased immensely. The main reason I choose this one over the others is:1.) Storage- fish oil should be stored in a metal container, not plastic (which sadly majority of fish oil on the market are sold in plastic bottles).2.) It's pharmaceutical grade- basically meaning it's been detoxified.3.) The type of fish oil used- sardines and anchovies have less toxins to begin with due to being a smaller fish.4.) Odorless! My dogs would probably eat fishy fish oil, but I love that it's odorless in case I get some on me, as we all know how stinky fish oil can be.Bottom line, I highly recommend this brand of fish oil and also highly recommend you do your research before purchasing supplements in general. Many of them are a waste of money.

Quality product
My cats don't mind this oil, it just cost me a lot buying from Canada plus with added shipping when in the states it's half the price. Probably won't purchase again because of the cost.

Little smell. Big price.
Took a long time to arrive, but the product is as described. Very little odor. Dog loved it. And she didn’t have any negative skin or tummy problems when introduced. Great alternative for a dog sensitive to salmon oil.Only real negative is the price.

Strong Smell, Dogs Dislike Taste - Disappointed.
I have given this product a one star, very disappointed as it had rave reviews elsewhere, but the strong smell of the fish, especially anchovy, gets stronger as time goes on and half way through the bottle my dog will no longer eat her food with the oil poured onto it. I would say it is VERY overpriced for what it is, and perhaps you will be paying for the actual bottle and not the quality of the oil. I am also disappointed that this company sells shark oil, since NO MATTER if they are sustainably sourced, Sharks are disappearing from our Oceans and other sources of Omegas should be found to replace Shark Oil. I will not be re-purchasing this product.
