wow, is this thing HEAVY
take a look at the claimed weights for this hub and for the Rohloff Speed Hub. the difference is dramatic. the latter is MUCH lighter...at almost a tenfold increase in price...this thing is REALLY heavy. and so far, after a couple hundred miles, it works great. i really love detentless shifting.BTW you can shift this thing while coasting forward, and while pedalling forward, but you can shift it only through about HALF of its range while standing still. unlike other hubs, backpedallinig while at a standstill does NOT help shifting.i am a bit dubious about the mfr's claim that, apart from the freewheel input at the sprocket, this hub requires NO maintenance (and CANNOT be maintained, or, by inference, REPAIRED) i'll update my review in 10 or 20 years with my observations about THAT.

I love it. Yes heavy but so smooth
I have this Hub on Three of my Custom bikes. I love it. Yes heavy but so smooth. Here are pics of my latest build. The key for me is having enough tension on the chain. Not enough tension and it will slip on the cog. I correct that by making the chain just long enough to get the chain on with a chain tension-er. See pics.
