Great cookbook for Trader Joe's fans
I love Trader Joe's and bought this cookbook to get ideas for cooking some of the cool items there. First, the cookbook is beautiful and amazing photos of most of the recipes. Anyway, I got a lot of ideas from this cookbook and everything I have made thus far has been amazing. My favorite thus far has been the vegan cheesecake made with the peach soy yogurt, vegan cream cheese and tofu. Oh, my God. It is absolute heaven. I brought it to work and nobody believed that it was vegan cheesecake....and it was so easy to make. The coconut curry polenta was amazing, too. So easy to make and so tasty--I actually was kicking myself that I never thought of that combination. Another quick favorite has become the Smokey Peach Tofu...wow! I haven't tried all of the recipes yet, but will eventually. I am quite pleased. My only criticisms would be to add nutritional information and also to add the Trader Joe's products to the index so that if you have some leftover TJ products, you can easily find a way to use them. Still, I love this cookbook and it deserves five stars.

OK recipes; lots of advertising
I purchased the book out of curiosity. I sometimes cook or bake for my vegetarian friends, and I'm often looking for something new. The recipes are ok, but not really new, and I think there may be better and easier ways to make these foods. The Hearty Bean Stew, page 70 calls for cooking the entire soup; fresh potatoes, carrots and bell peppers, along with Trader Joe's Bean and Barley mix for 1 1/2 - 2 hours, which would, in my opinion, make all the fresh vegetables mushy. It would be more logtical to cook the beans first, then add vegs and seasonings during the final 15 minutes or so.The index isn't really very helpful, as it lists the recipes only by the title like "Goddess Confetti Salad". This doesn't tell you much until you look up the recipe. If you're looking for a way to use up some frozen corn that's been in your freezer for awhile, or a couple of avocados that are ripening too fast, it doesn't list "corn" or "avocado",as a separate entry.I'm sending my copy back. Finally, it "bends" ordinary recipes in order to use Trader Joe's branded foods. Every recipe lists one or more specificallyTrader Joe's products, which leads me to think that in buying the book, I'm really paying for Trader Joe's advertising.

Great ideas in this cookbook.
This was a gift to my daughter, who loves Trader Joe's and is vegan. She has already made several recipes, and said they are easy and so far - all a big hit. Thank you!

Fun cookbook for the trader joe's fanatic!
My family LOVES TJs! We've tried a few of these recipes, some are great, some not so great. I walk through TJs and buy close to the same things every week, so this has been a great way to get us out of our food rut and try some new products. I bought this book so that my husband could look at a recipe, run to the grocery store, know EXACTLY what to buy, and make the meal himself. All meals are simple enough, and quick enough that my husband (who usually doesn't cook) can help out with meal prep every once in awhile.

I love this book!
I bought this book for myself and then a copy for a gift. I go to TJ's weekly and having a recipe book that focuses on things from one store saves time and money. No longer trying to plan meals around hard to find vegan specialty ingredients is great. Most recipes are easy to do and cost efficient.Since TJ's products differ, check the ingredients. Like the brownie mix in the book is not vegan. Also now TJs has vegan mozzarella cheese making some of the previous recipes even more vegan friendly. We love the pasta bake from the book! We use Tofurky Italian links instead of the vegan meat balls...So good! The peach tofu is also simple, fast, cheap and tasty! We liked it over basmati rice.

caution on ingredient availability
I took this book out of the library and was so happy with the promise it held that I immediately ordered one for my own from amazon.. The caution is that when I went to trader joes for the 17 bean barley mix and the cream of wheat I was told both items had been discontinued. Not just at the store but in the entire area I'm in. I guess I can be creative by using bobs red mill for the bean barley and again for the cream of wheat..but it is disappointing .this book just came out in ll/12

My cooking bible!
Any and all Trader Joe fans will love this book! Poor unfortunate people with no Trader Joes nearby will enjoy it too, as the recipes are quite adaptable and easy to put together. My daughter is a vegan and it's not easy to cook vegan at first. I LOVE that all the recipes which are vegetarian can be easily converted to vegan. The recipes are delicious to anyone who loves tasty, inventive food. I actually did a whole entire Thanksgiving feast with every dish (except the turkey!) being converted to vegan and all my guests loved everything!! Get this book-you will be so glad!! Bon apetit!!

Awesome cook book for true TJ loyalists [who also enjoy vegetarian dishes]
Hi! I will start out by saying that I love Trader Joe's; they're a great small grocery store which offers unique foods at a good price, with their own brand being free of processing and additives. This cookbook was written by a Trader Joe's loyalist (even moreso than myself, if that's possible), and introduces a wide variety of vegetarian meals--made with all Trader Joe's products. I am a seafood eater as well, but these recipes are more than easy to throw in with some salmon or mahi mahi filets as your main course; or, just enjoy them by themselves, as they are hearty and serve several people. Enjoy, and hurry up and get to your local TJ's!
