Have You Seen My Cat? (The World of Eric Carle) Board book – April 1, 1996

We love Eric Carle in our house and this was a book I had never seen before. My 2 yr old loves it! He wants us to read it most nights, he really thinks it's quite funny! The repetitive nature of the story I like for language development

Paperback. A great size for little hands. Fun story with great pictures.

This book is adorable. Yes the words are very simple (I have pretty much memorized it). However, the illustrations show so much more of the story. We talk about all the different cats (lion, bobcat, mountain lion, leopard, panther, cheetah, tiger, long haired domestic (probably Persian), and his cat is a short haired domestic gray tiger (like ours is) with 6 kittens (which we like to count)) We also talk about the other animals in the book (horse, donkey, camel, squirrel, etc). And we do the signs for "cat" and "bird". We also sometimes talk about the people in the book. She loves looking at the pictures and talking about the "kittys".UPDATE: I wrote this review when my daughter was almost 18 months. Now at 4 she still loves this book. She 'reads' it, knows all the different big cats, and has picked her Halloween costumes from it this year (panther) and last year (cheetah).

I gift this book to all new babies who come to live on my block. It’s cute, simple, artistic and I hope will help them love cats as much as I do.

This book is well made with great pictures. A cute story of a boy trying to find his cat with a surprise ending! Love this book. Sure to give lots of reading fun with you and your favorite little one.

Im doing tbe teach your child to read in 100 easy lessons book with my 4 year old. Were over half theough it so we started her in real books to see how she does. this book is recommended in the backnof the 100 book and she can read it all by herself !Plus its very repetitious good for toddlers learming to speak !

I understand repetitiveness is important to help little ones talk and predict what Is come next, but this book literally only has two lines. “have you seen my cat?”, “this is not my cat”. My son laughed reading it, but not sure he would have if I wasn’t reading it in a very animated way. Eric Carle has some great books, I would say this is my sons least favorite.

Described as used --it was. A book given to a set of sextuplets will be given more wear than most! Eric Carle is their favorite author; buying used makes a book, a week, a reality.

Hey huge fan of Eric carle, but my 3 year old daughter also did not enjoy this book . Was it because it was paper book not board.

This is exactly what it says it is. I would say this book is good for a young age as it is predictable and his illustrations are always very capitavating. If I do recall correctly some of the people in the book are a bit stereotyped so just be aware of that

Excellent book for early readers
