HD-2605 Description The Lava HD-2605 Outdoor HDTV Antenna comes with a built-in low-noise amplifier, allowing more channels to be received. Its dynamic amplifier gives the antenna a 125 mile receiving range, making it one of the most powerful antennas available on the market. The dual TV outputs located on the control box allow you to connect multiple TVs. With its handy remote control, you will no longer need to go out and move the antenna in a specific direction. No support, restricted installation
Two things you should know before you buy: you must install the control box prior to any splitter (which requires an electrical outlet), and unless you utilize and plug in the control box your channels may be very limited. Though I followed the instructions explicitly and tested the remote and control box indoors first, the remote does not function outside. I had to run an extension cord to install the control box outside and before the splitter (nothing warned me of this or I would not have purchased it), because running the cable direct to the TV without the control box gave me limited channels and poor reception. I finally got hold of support, after many tries, and while asking my question they hung up on me.

No Customer Service and Flimsy Product
Received the antenna in a timely fashion, the only "good" to report. But when unpacking it I could hear a rattling in the motor housing. I put the unit together, connected it to power and my television. The antenna would only rotate about 30 degrees and you could hear it hitting whatever was inside the motor housing as it attempted to rotate. I called the company seeking a replacement motor as returning the entire unit seemed silly to me as it was already put together. No answer to my call but of course "voicemail" and the obligatory promised return call. I left a message indicating where it was purchased, the issue, and my phone number. The unit is still within the return window on Amazon btw... No call back. A day or two later I made another call to the company with the same result. Left the same message. Still, no call back. I would not recommend this product, it is flimsy and not sure how it would hold up to a storm of any kind. And given this unit was purchased so I could remotely rotate the antenna once installed it fails to meet my needs. I will add however I am 30 miles south east of Chicago and did pick up 80 television stations with a quick test. But again.... Poor customer service, broken motor housing, and flimsy product.

Died After six weeks....beware
Turn on the power today...just a yellow light on the power box. The connections have not changed....no power on the antenna....no red light. You would hope this would last at least longer than six weeks.Just put my old Radio Shack antenna back up...with an internal power boaster (next to tv). Works fine....six years old...go figure. I just tried the 'new' one inside with the test cable...nothing...doesn't work. Buyer beware...

price vs. durability
When I unpacked it, I thought. what a cheap Chinese piece of crap. But I put it together, mounted it on a pole, and hooked it up. Works really well. Easy to assemble ,remote for antenna motor rotation is a nice touch, and very light weight. My main concern is durability. Have only had it up a few days, so I'll have to wait and see how it does in bad weather.follow up, about 6 weeks later storm rolled thru, antenna dangling in th e morning. the screws held but the plastic housing did not. My thoughts are, it was worth it as an experiment to see whether i watched antenna t.v. much (yes), but now i'll by a good antenna.
