Bought this back in February and carried it with me everywhere but finally got to use it in May. Seemed sturdy, the cable itself is strong, but the mechanism on the inside that rolls it back in broke within the first 10 uses and now it won’t retract. Maybe I got a defective one? The product itself would have been excellent had it lasted more than a few uses, for that reason I give it only 1 star. Update: Gave them a 1 star initially due to the failed mechanism but a customer service representative reached out to me almost immediately to figure out what the issue was and how to remediate the situation. Very professional and very quick with their responses and I was more than satisfied with the outcome. Like I mentioned before, maybe I got unlucky and got a defective one but don’t let that discourage you from trying it out yourself

I've had this item for nearly 3 years. The retractable key chain lasted about a year but the card holder last me until now. As long as you do not mind replacing the key chain, it is a good item.

Best badge/id card holder I’ve owned. The clip for your belt or bag is super tough, the pull line is thick and you can really feel the quality when you pull it to badge in. The card stays in even if I try to shake it out, yet using the spot where you slide your finger or thumb to get it out is extremely easy. It is truly worth the $12 paid. The only thing I don’t like was having the key ring on it. It clanked around too munch and was noisy, so I removed it. Other than that, pretty fantastic.

My job requires me to have a badge worn at all time, it also requires me to squeeze in tight places and around equipment that has many ways to snag loose items like a badge holder. I was snaping 1-3 badge holders a week and got fed up and found this. The Retractable line is metal and holds up VERY good. It will not pull apart so be careful if you need that feature this will not work. The badge in the holder sits securely and blocks 1 side from view while leaving the other side viewable through clear plastic. The belt loop claps is durable and spring close. I have snagged it on a chair and it just pulled the chair as I walked away. A few other guys in my trades group has ordered these and I recommend it to anyone who needs one.

Received a 2 pack on Friday afternoon and one of the reels had a defective snap attachment. It cannot be attached to the holder. I've reached out to the manufacturer by email showing the defective piece asking if they can just send a replacement piece rather than return everything. I am awaiting a response. If I don't get one by the end of next week the whole thing will be returned. The holder is as expected. It should last longer than the soft rubbery ones that cost just as much in office supply stores. I'll likely put a piece of tape over the top as added security just in case it gets knocked around on my backpack on commutes. It seems sturdy but the only retention is the one in middle center, so depending on card thickness and slipperyness I could see one slipping out as the product ages and the plastic wears. It should work well, but only time will tell. Which is why I got 2. Always have a backup! Update**. The manufacturer responded to just return the whole thing and they would send replacement. I did and the replacements arrived in good shape. Bumping up a star for quick resolution. Quality control is the only problem I've seen so far.

Sehr stabil und praktisch. Kleines Problem war, eine Schraube fiel in der Tasche raus. Habe dann alle rausgeschraubt, den Rahmen mit Sekundenkleber verlebt und die Schrauben beim reinsetzen ebenfalls mit Sekundenkleber befestigt.
