Best toy ever!
My maltipoo absolutely loves theses balls. She's played with them every day since she was 8 weeks old. She's now 10 years old! I fill them cherrios as directed by my vet. It provides hours of entertainment for her. Weve had to order more for our friends dogs and even a cat as they all want to claim the balls as their own. My dog even sleeps with it! We will never be anywhere ww's without one. Thank you for providing us with such a great toy!

Eating Slower While Having Fun
This keeps my pup actively moving, sniffing, foraging, while slowing down how quickly he eats his kibble. A dog trainer had said to put 1/3 of the kibble in the ball and 2/3 in his bowl. I do 3/4 in the ball and end with 1/4 in bowl, and that satisfies the best. (I had also tried 100% in the ball but learned why trainer said the split. My dog seems unsatisfied, begging for more, if he doesn’t get ANY in his bowl.) This works best outside since it’s a much larger area for pushing/rolling; too much furniture inside to get caught behind or under, though in inclement weather, I just put pillows on floor by large furniture gaps, so staying inside works, but the plastic is a hard plastic so is very noisy on tile floor, another reason that outside works best. I hesitantly marked that it’s chew-proof since my dog can barely get his mouth around it. Being a hard plastic, I’m sure it’d crack if truly bit down on. Note: I can’t seem to change my dog’s profile from my long-gone Rottweiler, so the breed this ball was for a 25 lb Beagle mix.

Great Toy, and Durable
Both my 5 month old Standard Poodle puppy and I love this treat ball! He’s still fairly small, but it’s held up great to his attempts to chew it so far, and he just loves playing with it. Amazingly, it’s the least expensive feeding toy we have, and probably the cheapest of *all* his toys, and by far one of his favorites.I love that it comes apart easily, although I found I have to screw it shut tighter to prevent it from coming open as my boy bats it around, which makes it a little tougher for me to open, but that’s easily dealt with and a small price to pay.The inner disk thingie that holds the kibble in place has an adjustable opening so you can use it with different size kibble, or make it smaller as your baby gains skill so that the challenge increases. It does make a lot of noise rolling around even on carpet and when it bangs into furniture, and I’m sure that would be magnified on hard surface floors, but I figure that just helps me keep track of where my little marauder is, LOL!It’s such a simple design, and looks kind of cheap, plus being hard plastic on top of that, I honestly didn’t have very high hopes for it, but it has greatly exceeded my expectations. We have the 3” size, and it holds 1/2 cup of small puppy kibble.I just learned that they also make a 4” ball, so I’m going to get one of those so I can fit an entire cup of food in it and not have to refill it as often.Highly recommended!

Serious decline in quality
This ball was great, but isn't anymore. It is really quick to load with kibble and can accommodate a pretty wide variety of kibble shapes. There seems to have been a change in manufacturing or something, though, and the plastic is really brittle on the latest treat balls we've gotten.I originally got the large and small size of this ball 6 years ago. The large we use about once a day--since my dog can't get his jaws around it to chew it up, I let him play with it while he's home alone. The original large ball is still going strong after probably thousands of uses. The smaller ball we use 2-4 times a day, and after more than 5 years of use the transparent plastic started to crack and I replaced it. The new balls are garbage though, and are not at all durable. In 6 months, I have gone through 4 of the small balls. The transparent plastic cracks along the threads even with really gentle use. I don't let my dog chew on the small ball and he doesn't throw it or anything, just rolls it with his paws on carpet. I have been sooooo careful that there isn't anything in the way of the threads when I close the ball and that I'm not overtightening it--even though I never had to do that with the original ball--but even with that I haven't made one last more than a couple months. This is so disappointing because it used to be such a great product and my dog LOVES his treat ball, but we're going to have to find something more durable.

Teach your dog to nudge it and they won't try to chew.
The way I found to be best to teach her to nudge it with her nose is: the first time you have your pup play with this, turn it upside down so the hole is on the floor, this way no matter how lightly they touch it, food will come out. After doing it this way for a couple of meals, they will know to nudge it to get the food rather than attempting to chew it. Otherwise, they may get frustrated that food only comes out sometimes and stop playing, or they will attempt to chew through the toy like in some of the other reviews. It only took me two meals of helping her and the third time she was pushing it around like a champ!I just received mine yesterday and my pup has already figured out how to use this! She pushes it around the house and it slows her eating down and gives her some exercise at the same time. When I rescued my pup she was very overweight. She couldn't even go for a walk longer than 1/4 of a mile and she would inhale her food in seconds, try to steal the other pups' food, or go in the back yard to find something edible. This toy slows her down and also gives her a bit of exercise she desperately needs! The only con I see to this toy is the last few pieces of food are almost impossible to get out but if you have a determined pup like mine, she'll fight for every piece!

Doesn't roll easy on flat flooring
Easy to take apart to clean, my dogs love them. They'd chewed holes in their old soft treat balls. My one dog figured out how to open it, she likes puzzles haha. But it doesn't roll well on wood floors, I have to put a blanket down so the dogs can roll them and they are a bit bottom heavy which makes getting treats out harder. My dogs eventually get frustrated because they can't get them all on their own.
