Riser Tube 1.050 inch w/Standard Mesh Basket - 1.05-inch x 56-inch Distributor Tube For Water Softeners and Filters by Oceanic Water Systems

Used this to replace a broken riser on a 10+ year old Kenmore softener. My softener was filled with just resin, no gravel at the bottom, and I reassembled it this way with the new riser. No issues. Bottom basket looks essentially identical to the stock basket.The riser tube itself is schedule 120 PVC. This is a slightly different, and I think better plastic than whatever Kenmore had used for the stock riser. The stock riser had for some reason gone fragile and bendy and this had caused the riser to start acting like it was too short to connect to the softener head.Packaging and shipping from seller (oceanic water systems) basically consisted of slapping a shipping label onto the plastic bag that the riser comes in and giving that to the USPS. It arrived just fine on my doorstep.

It's a cheap filter on a stick of PVC. Find the filter, use your own PVC. Definitely not an OEM part.

After shopping for a distributor pick up tube for my GE softener, and not having any luck. I came across this one, and it works great. I did have to cut the height of the tube to fit. The folks at Oceanic water systems saved the day.

The shipping was quick. And, the quality is superb. The only issue was the wrapping. The basket was wrapped securely. However, the other end was not. In fact, when delivered the carrier dropped the open pipe end into the ground. Luckily, no dirt went inside. If this open end had been wrapped with a couple of pennies worth of plastic and tape, it would be five stars. Heads up.

I purchased a new control head for my water softener and discovered that it did not fit my older riser tube. The diameter was different. This replacement tube is 1" diameter and fit into the new control head perfectly. After completely cleaning out the tank, I was able to install the new riser tube (it has to sit on the bottom of the tank) and replace the ion exchange media. It's important to keep the tube centered as you put media down into the tank, so that it will mate up with the control head when you are ready for re-assembly.Works perfectly now!

Funnel worth the money, can't imagine put resin in tank without it.
