I bought this for my cat Sweetpea's 8th birthday and she is wild about it!! I am NOT the world's best at assembling toys, but this was not difficult. I admit I cheated a bit and did it "the easy way"--just making a semi-circle that closes at each end. This had my cat puzzled briefly til she noticed that she could stick her paws in the openings and push the ball around the track. THAT definitely caught her interest! (When she gets tired and wants to rest, she sleeps next to it--one day I caught her curled up in a perfect semi-circle that matched the layout of the toy. She fit it perfectly, lol!) She loves rolling the ball around--she even tries pulling the ball out but seems to realize that won't work. She never gets discouraged, tho! I've even seen her take a few of her smaller toys (like tiny mice) and put them in the track--she's so clever, she makes up her OWN games!! :-) Later on I'm going to try this in different shapes and configurations to see if she prefers one or two styles over the others--my guess is she'll love it no matter WHAT shape it's in!!! She is a VERY HAPPY birthday girl and if she's happy, everybody's happy! ;-)

The toy took some frustrating assembly to put together (plastic bits that resisted being connected, cheaply cut), and everything was covered in a fine layer of dust/grime that forced me to put it all in the sink because touching it was just unpleasant. Now that it's all together, the ball doesn't even slip through the whole tube without getting caught.I'll edit the review once my cat has had some time to play with it.

Our cat absolutely loves this kitty toy. He likes it in the ring....not the S shape tho.
