Compact, effective, quiet.
This is great for smaller tanks 3+ gallons (tall). I would not recommend for use in tanks smaller than 3 gallons, esp with bettas since this little pump is very effective, so it does create a bit of a current, and bettas are not strong swimmers. It's also very quiet. My fish tank is 3 feet from the foot of my bed, and the loudest noise is the "fizzing" sound of the bubbles popping at the surface. I DO have to turn this off during feeding time since it does create a small current at the surface of the tank which makes my betta unable to catch his food. However, my corydoras LOVE it, and I occasionally catch them taking "bubble showers".
