Wizard of Oz Halloween Sensations Dorothy Costume (75th Anniversary Edition)

I purchased this costume for my 3 year old daughter after being displeased with the inappropriate selection at a store in my town. This costume was the more traditional look and matched the costume from the movie. My daughter is tall for her age and as skinny as she can be. If she would have had a wider neck, it wouldn't have fit her. The sleeves had extra room and the bottom hem line was mid calf. The top straps of the costume were made of a foam kind of material to make them sturdy and they were included on the back and front of the dress, which is great because so many costumes do not have any print on the back. At first, this bothered me and I considered taking about 3 inches off the bottom of her dress to make her better ones. But as we trick or treated through out the day, I am glad I didn't because it offered the dress support for when she moved. If the straps were cloth, they would have fallen off all night or sagged. The material of the blue gingham wasn't the shiny "silk" material that girls costumes are usually made of (the cheap ravel at the bottom and tear easily kind), it was a stretchy polyester material that was thick and had weight. The white connected shirt is a silky material that is quality. The only thing I didn't like was the ribbons it came with for her hair. They seem to be blue elastic material, but that was easy enough to fix. I just bought her blue ribbons and tied them in her hair. Overall, I would suggest this costume. I plan on keeping it for her children when she grows up, that is how much I love it. I always through her costumes in her pretend play bin, but not this one. So many people stopped us to take her picture. As a tip, I wouldn't buy the Toto that is available for this costume. It was cheap, the basket and the dog. The dog was poorly made and had patches of hair missing. This time of year, you can find baskets at the stores, just use one of her stuffed animal dogs instead and save your money,

I just wanted a plain, normal, non-bedazzled Dorothy costume for my 3 year old. Everything we saw in the stores either did not look Dorothy's dress at all, or was covered in sequins. I decided to check amazon, and based on another reviewer saying that this dress was not covered in sparkles, I purchased it. I bought a small for my 3 year old, who is on the heavier side (36 inches, 40 lbs). The dress itself was very big on her, but the neck enclosure had fit her perfectly, so I knew she wouldn't have been able to fit in the toddler size. I had to hem the dress about 4 inches because it almost touched her ankles, and I safety pinned around the waist as well, probably another 3 inches. Once I made those adjustments, the dress was absolutely perfect. Everything I had hoped to find for her costume. The day before Halloween she wore the costume to a party and spilled spaghetti sauce on the entire torso. I was worried that it wouldn't come out since the quality of costumes aren't known to be great. Once we got home, I had washed it and it came out completely. I was relieved that the costume was able to withstand being washed. So great costume, highly recommend it!

This is an absolutely beautiful costume. The quality is great, it is thick enough that she does not have to wear any leggings under it. My daughter is 4 and I ordered a medium, it fit her perfectly! It wasn't short and the neck wasn't to tight and didn't choke her at all. The buttons on the front were beautiful. My only complaint would be that the Velcro on the neck wasn't very strong, I fixed it by using a safety pin and the hair bows were more like blue strips of elastic and could have been so much better.

Costume is well made and super cute. The sizing however, is horrible. Bought a medium for my average-sized almost 7 year-old. It was huge length-wise. The skirt was several inches below her knee. Decided to try a small. It was so short it BARELY covered her behind. Such a weird sizing inconsistency. In case you're wondering like I was, don't get a small unless your child is under 5 or a very petite 5 year old. If they're 6-9ish expect the medium to technically fit, but be very long.

Neck Velcro didn't hold up past 15 minutes, so I had to safety pin it together. It also hung a little strange as well. The buttons feel off within an hour and I had to tack it back on. Fabric also started fraying after the first wear. It's quite disappointing when you are paying so much for a name brand costume for it to disintegrate immediately. It also runs large. My daughter is a US size 7 (age 6), so I bought a medium and it was definitely too big.

I ordered this costume for my daughter because she was playing Dorothy in her school play. She was absolutely beside herself when she put it on. The fit was as expected and the material was a little shiny. She didn't have any complaints of it being uncomfortable. We paired it with white leggings from children's place and red glittery shoes from amazon. It helped create a great memory for my family so it served its purpose and then some.

Very cute costume beautiful color and material.

I had ordered the medium and it was huge on my 8 year old so I returned it and got the small which was insanely too small for her. Not to mention there were rips in the seams and just overall bad quality. You’d be better off making this costume yourself.

Seems a tad wide for the length (or short for the width?) but otherwise perfect! It's very well made, and the fabric, while not the best, is very nice for the price. Our daughter wore it in a play and loves it.

Some of stitching on hem was a bit rough with cotton needing trimming but overall really happy.

Buy a bigger size up if ur putting warm clothes underneath my babys 3 i bought her a small should of went to a medium

Fits small, especially in the neck. My daughter is very small and we could not do up the neck. Cute costume though.
