A very nice stone to ownf
I have found that some steels can’t hold a fine polished edge. But can hold a good working edge. Like maxamet steel. Why do the work if it’s going to loose the edge the first day you really use it. Maxamet will hold working edge for a very long time. But there are other steels some what like that. Put more angle , for a thicker edge , instead of a fine thin edge, and use a smaller grit like this 600 stone, which I think is perfect for a working edge. I sharpened a knife today, and after I used this stone , I could still shave hair with it. But it is still able to bite hold of what your cutting. If that makes sense.

Chosera Lives up to the hype
A great stone that feels incredible to use. The stone gives excellent feedback and cuts well. If you are looking for top quality equipment then this is the one for you.

Smart buy!
Workhorse. I use this for razor repair. Doesn't load up to quick. Great feedback. Does dish a little, but with extensive use...I expect that! Thick stone. This and the 8oo and 3k naniwa's are smart buys.

Nice stone
Admittedly my first set of stones, so little reference point. I've used them once on approx. 15 knives....worked out great, though still need some practice. This style stone was suggested by my son-in-law whose a professional chef and always keeps really sharp knives on hand.

Great stone to start on
This stone relplaced my Shapton 320 and Chosera 400 for a starting place before my progression of sharpening . Cuts very fast and leaves a consistant scratch patter for the next stone (1k/2k) .This stone gives of plenty of slurry for those who appreciate that type of sharpening (not so much for me ) , but wears slower than you’d imagine ( I understand how backwards that sounds ) .Now for a splash and go stone this stone soaks quite a bit of water , not so much a problem for me but if you needs less of a cleanup this stone might not be for you cause you’ll get plenty of blue slurry off this thirsty stone .

An awesome stone and worth every penny
An awesome stone and worth every penny. I know it's expensive but you will be glad you bought it and then you'd wish you bought a few more to make a set. I wish Naniwa would keep this line instead of the new stone to replace it. I have both and I can tell you this is a superior stone.

Great middle-line Grit
What astounded me on receiving the product is that it had 0 english on it what-so-ever, and was all in japanese so I believed it was authentic. On opening it, it included the base glued to the stone itself, and with the leveling stone too. Works just great, however I wish I would have gotten a lower grit for re-profiling.
