I bought this to ignite the propane burner for my Tukey Fryer setup.It was cheaper and faster shipping to buy this plasma lighter than to get fireplace matches.Wood matches burn down and get shorter as well as leaving you with a big burnt stick to throw out.Matches can get blown out. You'd have to try really really hard to blow a plasma arc. It just crackles when air pushes on the arc. It's just a pulsing beam of electrical energy jumping to the nearest path of least resistance a lightning speed lolEasy to use. The switch acts as a safety. The push button triggers the arc. To ignite gas, hold arc ending in front of gas output and activate the arc. Then while the arc is active, turn on the gas. The gas will ignite the moment it reaches the arc and you can turn off the lighter and adjust the gas till the flame is the required size.To ignite candle, simply activate the arc and position the arc ending to the wick from the sides. It will take a second or two for the wick to heat enough to combust into a flame. Heat rises and the flame will form upward towards the ceiling.Igniting from the sides will leave room for the flame and make it easier to light and see when it's lit.The battery lasts plenty long for a small and lightweight device that creates a powerful little plasma arc. It just comes down to how often you are using it. If you are using it consistently... consistently charge it.The end of the lighter has a little loop for hanging on a hook. I think a Clip would have been better here, so you could clip onto the side of candle or grill or something and still be able to hang on a hook. But still, the loop shows they did give consideration to device storage and hanging. Good enough.Overall, this plasma arc lighter is affordable, easy to use, and does exactly what I needed.

Simple and easy to use. Easy to charge with a nice meter to show you the charge level. Lights candles instantly and even incense! I originally didn't think it would work with incense but it does. Also has a nice safety lockout. Great.

Once our usual barbecue grill lighter finally ran out of steam, I found myself looking for alternatives that wouldn't require me to throw out the plastic husk of the lighter once they'd been used up. Seems extremely wasteful!This lighter works really well for our purposes (which, admittedly, is mostly just lighting candles) and we haven't had any issues with battery life nearly a year later. It may take a few extra seconds to get certain things to ignite since this doesn't produce a flame and after repeated use, we noticed a buildup of ash on the head (which was easily wiped off with a damp paper towel). Apart from that, we've had no problems! Picture included to show the head after about a year. Arc is still going strong!

We use this to light our gas stove during power outages. It does the job and is safer than a butane lighter. Giftable?? Who would give this as a gift?

The other long adjustable angle lighters are tricky to light and can get blown out easily. And wasteful, as once runout of fuel you have throw them out. This is an unbelievably inexpensive lighter that couldn’t be easier to adjust or power/“light”, and recharges with usb- good forever! Used to light stove and a candle with low small smushed wick when power went out and worked easily- 5 stars!

My propane grill igniter stopped working awhile back and this one has the proper length to get it going fast.

Does the job but not amazing and battery dies quickly.

Amazing and works exactly as described. it takes a bit to get used to. The "flame" is really just sparks and needs to be in exactly the right spot but this is far superior to 4$ butane lighters for candles and the grill that run out after so many starts.
