Easy to follow instructions, easy to assemble. You only need a hammer and Phillips screwdriver to assembly this.I'm very pleased with this headboard. Good quality, looks great! I highly recommend.

The instructions don't include how to attach 2 little shelves but it is pretty simple to figure out where they go. I think the quality is really nice and this was exactly what I was looking for at a great price

Love this headboard now that it's put together. The first step has you put little clips into precut grooves. One of my pieces was missing the groove. After 30 minute of trying to create my own groove to fit the piece into, I realized it really didn't matter because you screwed the pieces to something else anyways. That part was stupid. Otherwise, it was easy to put together and I love all the storage. It does take some getting used to though. I keep worrying about hitting my head on it.

Sauder makes solid quality basic furniture like this. I needed a basic, functional headboard and this was the perfect fit at a good price. Instructions were clear. All of the parts were included and they worked. The finished product matched the description as desired. Everything you want from these kinds of kits.

I'm a 50-year-old single mom, work fulltime, and I put this together in about an hour, with no help. This headboard isn't wobbly as other reviewers stated - just make sure you screw things correctly and tight enough. Extra hardware is included, predrilled holes lined up fine, and nothing was missing.Words of advice:(1) Be observant, look a couple pages in advance as you're putting it together, in order to not miss which side goes where and with what(2) When installing the 2 parallel (vertical) pieces of the shelves, don't keep the unit laid on the floor like the directions illustrate - gravity will work against you! I believe that's why some reviewers say you need 2 people(3) Build this baby on carpet. Your knees and floors will thank you(4) When you pick up the final product, carry it with your hands underneath the bottom horizontal piece. Otherwise your vertical shelves may dislodge. And do NOT drag it!

The first one received looked as if it was a previously returned one as the box was hashed, and the tape was scattered all over it. I opened it up carefully down one side and saw scratches and a corner break. Not surprising considering the condition of the box. "Immediately returned it, but it took an additional 2 weeks from start to finish to finally get one that was indeed in better condition. The new one however also had issues, there is a small hourglass brown plastic piece, you get 2 of them for a corner attachment. The boards were cut to accommodate them, but on one board, that cut notch was not done at all, so I just glued it in place, taking an extra day to build so the glue would set right. There were many pegs that are used to slip into the round hidden fasteners that have a little plastic piece on them. 2 of the peg's plastic pieces were cracked, making the board gap open just a bit and not look more professional. The large screws/bolts used to secure the bedframe to the headboard should have been at minimum 1/4 inch longer as it was VERY difficult to secure them, having to forego adding the washers even. There is a slight error in the preset starter holes on the sides that hold the metal bedframe brackets, so when you secure the hardware, you still have to as I did, added the unused washers under the side boards to raise it up to still have to fight to get the bolts through the holes. It was as if they needed to raise all the preset holes at least 1/4 of an inch higher on all holes on both sides so the screws/bolts will more easily slide into the brackets, assuming they provided slightly longer bolts. They need unloosen the purse strings and go with an additional 1/2 inch long as they are all hidden anyway and the extra 4 cents per bolt won't break the bank, I'm sure. After it was completely assembled, set in place and secured. it is not too bad. Wish they had one that was strictly for a full-size bed and not a full/queen as space is limited, but oh well.

We got this to go in our grandkids guest room...its great and looks even better. Just the right height and size for the queen frame with mattress. Very easy to assemble and move into place

Overall this is a nice looking headboard but it is NOT designed for real life or for heavy duty use. Has a cardboard backing and heavy duty paper covering ( simulated woodgrain) making it okay for guest rooms, movie props, staging a property, etc., but NOT for long term standard use, especially by vigorous couples who play hard in their beds at night or families with children who jump on the bed.I had to modify it substantially to keep it from falling apart with light usage.Would not buy again.
