GREAT product for you Baofeng uv-5r!
Calling all preppers, off-roaders, tactical cosplayers, and anyone else who's discovered the gem that is Baofeng radios! I've been a fan of these affordable little wonders for years, using them for all sorts of adventures. But, there's always been one piece missing in my setup – a solid vehicle charger. Well, not anymore!I stumbled upon this adapter and, let me tell you, it checks all the right boxes. It's a nifty gadget that's perfect for my needs. In my Jeep, the Baofeng is mostly for scanning while I'm cruising around. I'm not into drilling holes in my dash, but I sure do enjoy playing the role of a curious onlooker.And that's where this adapter shines. Works Great
This adapter works perfectly with the UV5R HT. It snapped right in and powered the HT with no problems. Remember, this is NOT a battery charger. It is a 12V DC adapter for use in your automobile 12V accessory outlet, or 12V power supply with an accessory 12V outlet.

Good to have for a backup if battery's fail
Good to have for a backup if battery's fail, some reports of problems with continuous use but I have had good luck. Cheap price and good to have.
