Brings my phosphate-free dishwasher pods to life...
I finally ran out of the Cascade Fryer Boil Out powder and couldn't find it anywhere for less than over $100/, 85 oz x6, which I'd been buying for years. So I was forced to start buying (also)-expensive Cascade Platinum Plus pods that were wimpy and smelly in comparison. When I run out of the Cascade pods I might try the Walmart-brand of DW pods... way less expensive. Anyway, I received this 5 lb bag of Sodium Tripolyphosphate (STPP) powder last week and, wow, what difference... My dishes are clean again. ½ teaspoon STPP in the detergent cup along with one pod is all it takes. It seems to condition glassware, too, because the glasses come out crystal clean and they feel "soft."

Mildly alkaline cleaner
The cleaning products we have today are not as effective. Nothing compares to the clean observed with phosphates and alkaline builders with surfactants

Softens water
If you use commercial detergent this probably is great. I make my own laundry soap using real soap and our water is not very hard but it takes a lot of this to soften the water. I’d be better off getting a water softener.

Is a great super surfactant
You only need a small amount of this to make a big difference in the cleanliness of your laundry. It may not get out every stain, but it sure beats just using detergent alone.

Magical addition to dishwasher detergent
I've previously been adding TSP to my dishwasher along with a standard liquid dishwasher detergent. That was working pretty well. But I thought I'd give STPP a try. And it works gangbusters. Much higher rate of sparkling glassware. It even improves water spots. Use a teaspoon or tablespoon or whatever seems to work along with your regular detergent. There are food uses for STPP also, but they are probably too technical for a home kitchen. If you're geeky though....

Oh Yeah… this is the cleaning holy grail!
I don’t know how to explain this product any other way but to say that this allows the laundry and dishwasher detergents to do the jobs that they were designed to do (CLEAN). I wasn’t sure this would get me the results that I was looking for, but through my research, I was assured this was the missing link that I needed to resolve my decade long nightmare. And as promised… I took a blind leap of faith, tossed a scoop in the machine, and waited. The results… the heavens open up and the angels sang a glorious “your stuff is clean again” melody. I was shocked, ecstatic, and dancing for joy. No need to buying more products to pre-treat, soak, de-stain, or de-anything. Just let the detergent do all of of the work that is was designed to do. All I can say is hallelujah! I am one very, very happy lady again!

Try it, You Will Never Go Back
A tablespoon or two in your wash effectively softens hard water. MINIMUM of 20% improvement in brightness, softness and absorbancy. Improves with repeated use. I would rather use no soap if I had to choose between the two. If you wash in hard water you will be amazed. Laundry isn't worth doing without it.
