Colombian Green Unroasted Coffee Beans 3- Pounds Single Origin Farm - Barcelona

This was my first order for home roasting so I made some mistakes and got various results, but still liked the flavor better than store bought coffee. The screen sizing made it a little more difficult to get an even roast from an air popper, but the combination of slightly lighter and darker roasts may contribute to the complexity of flavor. Learning different roast characteristics is going to take a while. Using an old popcorn popper is not as precise as I would like it yet, but I will learn over time. A matter of seconds in roasting can make a considerable difference in flavors. I have read that some beans are able to take the heat better than others and can give you a little more tolerance in your roast timing. There are so many different beans and growing regions that have different flavors it could take a long time and difficulty in finding your favorite.

Bought these for home roasting in my high tech air popper. I've tried a few different types in the past with mixed results, usually having a woody carboard after flavor. So far, and it's still early, I'm liking these best, very clean and robust. Its only rested for 2 days but the flavor profile is already great. I bet in a couple more days it'll be even better. I did mine full city (right at second crack). My setup is very sophisticated. It consists of a Poppery II air popper, a hand held mesh strainer, and a shop vac to help cool off in the strainer. If these beans are this good with my setup, I bet they'd be really great in a professional type roaster.Look forward to trying some different roasts, but I'm thinking full city is where its at!

These are in horrible condition, they never should have been bagged and placed for sale. Clearly this farm/ reseller is unloading some garbage beans. I'll update in the event that I receive a refund / replacement.Update: I was able to get a refund through amazon, the seller did contact me several days after I mentioned my concern.The sellers response -HIall coffees come with a percentage of defects some more than others depending on the qualitythese defects are normalcoffee beans chopped by an insect called a BROCArocks or strange objects in the Coffeeblack or immature grainsdifferent grain sizeskeeping in mind that coffee is qualified by flavorAnd of course if you are not satisfied with the product you can return itEndconclusions: should you be interested in purchasing coffee with "strange objects" then this is your flavor

Really nice beans with a great aroma when roasted. I roasted the first batch a bit too light so I've settled that at least a Full City roast is probably best. When used to make espresso, my lighter-roasted beans produced a crema that had a pleasant fruity flavor. After the beans had degassed some more, the flavor was more in the caramel regime. Can't wait to give this a second shot as a darker roast.

I wanted to enjoy these beans--the intact ones seem to have good flavor--but there were just too many defects. Out of 3 pounds, I was left with 2.2 lbs after removing all the obvious insect damage (borer beetles). On top of that, there were lots of quakers, sours, boaters, blackish beans, etc. Don't why I'm the only reviewer to note this; maybe I just got a bad bag? I reached out to the seller; will edit/update this review if I get a timely response.

This is the second brand I'm trying out in my quest to find the perfect coffee to roast myself and it comes pretty close to perfect. The beans roast evenly, have a good and even size, and they are very flavorful. My favorite roast with these so far is a Vienna Roast.

Something doesn’t seem right..... had a bit of a pungent smell while roasting and the taste wasn’t good.. I roast a lot.. many different types of beans... this was quite disappointing.

This coffee is absolutely awesome. I roast it to light and med light depending on my coffee mood. It works as a darker med roast as well but I prefer the taste of a lighter roast on this bean.
