I use this as a demo to show patients how much fat is really clinging on and what we are carrying around on our bodies. Its a great visual and sensory aid and helps motivate people to lose weight. The quality is excellent and it looks great in my office.

For tactile learners, for visual learners, and generally for all those that will identify the differences between the muscle and fat models to enhance their learning...The consistency between the two models is obvious, and can be used for numerous purposes, even being a conversation starter or motivator. I will use this in my classroom as a conversation starter and motivator throughout the school year, and allow other teachers to borrow it. In my room, I will keep it covered under a plastic cover, and if handled, it will be wrapped in plastic wrap so that it can still be seen, felt, and continue to be protected from dust, hair, and any other foreign matter. I will also be able to wipe it after being handled to diminish transmission of any pathogens.I bring students into medical anatomy labs where they are able to see the bodies on which medical students are learning human anatomy. The bodies are dissected in various ways, often with much of the fat having been removed to expose the structures underneath. The fat is at times slightly visible in other parts, but can be mistakenly thought of by my students as the lower layers of skin or some other structure. This will help them identify the parts when they arrive to the lab (even if the color is slightly affected postmortem). It can also reduce some of the shock of seeing a real human dissected, being already familiar with at least a little bit of the body and knowing what it feels like to hold.

I homeschool my kids so this set is awesome for some hands on learning and really helps them be able to visualize/feel the difference between fat and muscle. My sons couldn't believe that both the muscle and the fat replica each weighed 1 pound so I whipped out the kitchen scale to prove it. They were shocked to say the least. The muscle replica is dense and not very pliable while the fat is squishy and jiggly. They do attract dust so as another reviewer mentioned, I would keep them in a bag when not in use. The muscle replica was also... greasy? It left a weird oily film on our hands and on the desk as you can see from the pictures but it wasn't too big of a deal. Overall this is a very accurate representation of the difference between fat and muscle.

I got these to use for a photo project, and they are every bit as accurate as I'd hope they'd be. The fat looks like fat, adipose tissue that releases energy, regulates temperature and hormones, protects organs, and stores vital fat-soluble nutrients. The muscle looks like muscle, tissue that really can't do much without the support of fat because the body can't really do much without the support of fat.As other reviewers have mentioned, the material of these models will easily attract lint & dust, so storing them in their individual bags when they're not in use is wise to keep them clean.
