If you are familiar with Jamie and Wes than you know how colorful of a personality Blake is. I was so excited when I heard he had a book and I instantly went after this one here and I am so happy that I did because Blake's book was everything that I could have hoped for and more. It also really emulated everything you would come to expect from Blake and what his love story would be like. Everything sexy and adorable all wrapped up in one package of delicious writing that only these two can do when they get together. There is something about how these authors write when they write together that is so gravitating.First LineEven though the restaurant staff has already done its magic, I'm fussing over the dining table one more time. The Main ProtagonistsThe Hero: Blake RileyProfessional NHL player, lover of animals, has tons of energy and is close to his family. Big boned and muscled but loves to play and be the "life" of the party. The Heroine: Jess CanningAlways on the hunt for "the career", feels she has disappointed her family, but is finding herself in Nursing.SummaryJess and Blake had a one night stand when her brother was sick, and ever since neither of them have been able to forget that night. But Jess is determined to not screw up her brother's wedding and then she runs into Blake once again and is reminded of what they once shared. But she knows Blake, he has flair and drama and she doesn't need him ruining her role as a event planner. Blake Riley is determined to win over Jess, he can't stop thinking about her and wants more of her, but she is being stubborn. but through a course of events, they both end up in the same city and come into some scenarios where they have a fake relationship but soon they start to build their own relationship without even realizing it. But Blake is determined to show Jess that he is serious about them being together. What I LovedThere was so much to love about this book and sincerely and truly I had a blast with Blake. I just loved seeing him in the "Him" series and in this one here we see how much of a trooper he is here. And even though previously we have seen him with so much drama and flair and has such a colorful personality, but in "Good Boy" we see him with such a colorful personality and its such a blast to see. I was laughing all over the place with his fun shenanigans especially in trying to charm Jess into her panties. But when he does get in them....he definitely knows how to please a woman that is for sure. But we also get to see the heart of who Blake is. He has such compassion and is such a rock with his family and he also has a tough past of being betrayed which is why he hasn't been in a serious relationship since Jess. Now Jess was a true delight to read if I am being honest. I admired her heart and her drive to find her passion even if she has to make a ton of mistakes first. I loved how she isn't afraid to have new sexual experiences and can be spontaneous on occasion when the need arises. She has her own backbone and stands on her own with Blake but at the same time, when he needs a listening ear, she is always there and constant and steady. She has such a balanced personality in how she treats others and I really admired that she deeply. There is a bit of tension for her as she figures out her nursing degree and if its something she wants to do. But Blake really helps her find her path through it all and it was so endearing to see that. And then the reveal to her brother was delightful, when Jamie and Wes react to Jess and Blake being together?? PRICELESS!! I bookmarked it even so I can reread it later down the road hahaAnd the ending was the sweetest part of the story, there was something so unique and fun about seeing these two together and the development of the relationship on a emotional level was poignant and heart wrenching as we see the true heart of Blake and Jess and how right they fit for each other. And Jess makes a fabulous WAG. Just sayin'What I Struggled WithNothing. Loved every minute of this one here.Overall ViewGood Boy is a book of delight and depth. A perfect balance of humour and heart...
4 stars -- These books by Ms. Bowen and Ms. Kennedy are just endless boodles of entertainment. And not just laugh out loud funnies, but heart too you know? They always have an amazing balance. And this book is non exception.Blake is such a bizarre creature, I had no idea what I was going to find in this book. He's really...almost, eccentric? He's hilarious, but just so freaking weird too!! He's like this big teddy bear that you just want to hug, but that could also annoy the bejeezus out of you. But I think the love always wins out in the end. He was kind of a different book boy than I'm used to falling in love with, b/c he is just so...hard to define. It's not your normal kind of sexual intensity, you know? Not like he's not sexy, but he's goofy sexy. He's make you laugh during the steamy moments sexy. And that's hella fun too. And in spite of all his goofy qualities, he's just such a great guy with a big heart. I loved how sweet and considerate he was of all his friends and his family. I loved that he really saw Jessie, and what she was going through, and always had the most thoughtful advice and observations and pick me ups waiting in his own unique Blake way.Jessie took me a bit longer to warm up to. It's funny, b/c at the beginning I was worried I wasn't going to love Jessie. Because she really had a LOT of growing up to do, and the way she saw Blake and the way she almost...lashed out? at him because of her own insecurities hurt my heart. I felt so protective of Blake, so I was quick to frowny face all over her actions. But of course Ms. Bowen and Ms. Kennedy would not stand for that! Nope, they had to make her learn and grow and change. It's almost like they're good character writers or something, right? So Jessie definitely grew on me. I started to feel for her and the pressures she was feeling, even if I wanted to smack her for her insecurities, I still GOT it. Sort of. Mostly. And I LOVED seeing her come into her own, and really start to understand her value. It might have been nice if she could have gotten there a bit more on her own, without Blake, but I'm not going to complain too much.I loved how well they complemented each other too. How they both contributed to the others growth and healing. How Blake showed her a different side of herself, and how Jessie stood up for him and took care of him.And obviously the secondary characters were pretty sweet. They didn't necessarily have huge roles, but they played their parts. From Mama Riley, to the WAGs, to Leila...actually, writing that out, my favourite secondary characters all played a role in Jessie's growth. But I guess Blake still had Wesmie and some of his other fellow hockey players. I wouldn't have minded a bit more on the support front.Anyways, thoroughly entertained. Can't wait to dive into more of these Toronto hockey players stories!!

Blake > Unrealistic Hallmark Hunks
Yes, he’s wealthy, hot, tall, and sculpted…just like all the other love interests in all the other spicy books. This time, though, the dialogue feels more realistic. How often are perfect-in-every-way billionaire main characters saying all the things women want to hear? A. LOT.Not Blake. He’s not all slick pomp and romance script perfection. He’s kind of doofy (think The Gronk).I’m an audhd adult, so even with descriptions, I can’t picture faces. Because my mind’s eye can’t see characters, I need to feel them. The authors did a great job in making POV shifts easy to step into and truly feel. We get to feel Jess’s irritation, then learn Blake’s caring and innocent reasons for what he does at the wedding. All the things he does that initially drive Jess crazy are clearly done with the best of intentions. The more we read, the more we fall—just like Jess. We get to see him in more dimension, with occasional reminders that he’s still the sometimes-clueless hockey player with an affinity for the expression, “Cheezus!”I wanted to p**ch Molly The Blinker.I wanted to recklessly rearrange Violet’s textbooks there for a minute.I wanted to reach into the book and hug Leila.I just purchased the next title instead because I can’t do any of that.

So funny and hot
Okay, let me just say that Blake did rub me the wrong way with his creative way with words. Man child is a real thing. Now I can say that he grown me and now I want Blake for myself, family and all.Jess is trying to figure out what she wants to do with her life and never thought that Blake would be included. He diff wore her down and soon this incredible couple if a force to behold. Couple goals right there folks.

Hockey and dogs and more laighter than you can be prepared for.
Good Boy is the first book in these lovely ladies' new hockey series WAGs (Wives And Girlfriends)..This new series by this amazing author pair is picking up where we left off in US, the second book in the prequel MM duology about Wes and Jamie, or Wesmie which is the bestest ship name ever. The WAGs series is about the Toronto hockey team and the lovelife of the friends and teammates of Wes.This first book is all about our favourite goofball and Wes's best friend, Blake Riley who we got to know in US first and Jess Canning, Jamie's big sister who was also there in US.They thought they're never going to see each other again after that one mistake of a day but being made of honour and best man at a wedding complicates things.Jess is slowly going crazy because her life is about to turn around.. again... and her family already thinks she can't decide for herself what to do. And now Blake's antics are a constant in her life which doesn't make things easier.Blake is determined to prove he's not the immature bachelor everyone thinks he is. And he's set his eyes on the beutiful blond who seems hell bent on rejecting him.Blake and his crazy hides a vulnerable soul and Jess despite her own insecurities might just be the person who can repair what once was broken. What's better than hockey players in a romance book? Hoceky players with dogs! Blake and Jess's story was funny with some blanaced angst and of course... hockey! If I pick up a book from these ladies the fun is absolutely guaranteed. I loved every moment and of course there was enough Wesmie to make everything more perfect.Absolutely loveable characters, a fulfilling, fun story about bringing out the best in someone and hockey and dogs and more laughter than you can be prepared for.If you loved Elle Kennedy's Off-Campus and Briar U series and the author pair's HIM duology then this series is a must! The perfect amount of fluff and angst to entertain you!

Totally fan-girl for these authors!
I loved 'Him' and 'Us' by these authors so it came as no surprise that I loved this book equally as much. They have such a gift for writing such amazing, likable characters. I found Jess to be such a relate-able character. Dealing with the pressure of trying to find herself and prove to her family that she's not the flighty, irresponsible one. That's a struggle that I think a lot of readers can appreciate if not relate to. And Blake is an all around great guy. Sweet, genuine and totally lovable. There was drama in this book but not the over the top unnecessary kind which can be tiresome. I also really enjoyed getting to see Jamie and Wes again as they are one of my favourite book couples. I can't wait for the next book in this series.

This story was so funny.Love the H/h banter and the slowly way they discover what they feel to each other. I just feel there should have been more pages. It ended too quickly.

Good Boy - romance cinco estrelas
